This is actually my 3rd time watching Season 1. I really want to like Discovery, but I couldn't get into it my first 2 times, for pretty much the same reason all of the other detractors have stated. This time I'm actually liking it better. I still have issues with the visuals, the portrayal...
Anybody have info on what happened to season 1 on Paramount Plus? I've been rewatchingSeason 1 and got to Episode 13. Today I went to watch it and the whole season is gone from Paramount Plus. What happened?
Thanks for the info! I didn't know the Master's story that well. As for the Doctor, it just seems to me they knew the show would be back some day and the 13 regenerations would come up. Oh well. I knew it wasn't SF.
Just finished Sylvester McCoy. He was better than I remember the first time, though some of the stories seemed a bit more childish than usual. Paradise Towers is a good example. One thing I really liked was Ace. She was great. I rank her up with Jamie, Sarah Jane and Leela as among my...
I just finished Colin Baker's two seasons. He was much better than I originally remembered. I think maybe people were put off by how big a change he was from Peter Davison. Also, the whole "Trial of a Time Lord" concept just didn't work for me. It strikes me as a foreshadowing of all this 13th...
I just finished the 5th Doctor's era. I didn't like Peter Davison the first time I saw him,. I think it's because he had to follow my all time favorite Tom Baker. But this time i really enjoyed his portrayal of the Doctor. He was actually funny in a very subtle way, and maybe the most...
On my complete rewatch I just finished Earthshock. As much as I dislike the overuse of the Cybermen now, I really liked the Classic Who use of them. I'm liking Peter Davison much more this time. Before I thought he was too low key, even boring. Maybe it was because after 7 seasons of Tom...
I just finished Tom Baker's last season in my continuous rewatch. Different from my previous rewatch I really liked the last couple seasons. It definitely helps that Tom was my first doctor that I watched as a kid. For me, he will always be THE doctor. But I think my favorite aspect to the...
Destiny of the Daleks on my complete rewatch. Only the second Tom Baker series with the Daleks. Both are good and I like them more because the Daleks only made occasional appearances with Tom Baker.
Just finished The Invasion of Time on my complete watch through. Sad to be done with Leela. She is my favorite companion of all - Classic and NuWho - followed by Sarah Jane and Jamie. While Romana was good, I just never saw the same chemistry as between Tom Baker and Louise Jameson...
On my complete run through I just finished the Sarah Jane Smith era. I know she is revered as the classic doctor's best companion, but I have to say that I prefer Jamie and Leela (whom I'm just getting to). I have to say Sarah was still very good and I like how she interacted with both Jon...
I know some think The Visitor or In The Pale Moonlight are DS9's best episodes. But for me this one is the best as it deals with the Bajoran religion, Sisko as emissary v. Starfleet captain, and Sisko's father/son relationship with Jake. I just loved this one. Thoughts?
I just finished Genesis of the Daleks. This may be all time favorite Doctor Who story. I just wish the Doctor had finished them off so we wouldn't have had to be continually bombarded with Daleks in the NuWho
Yeah, the reviews are generally not very good and I remember not really liking it the first time. I especially remember thinking it wrong to have British actors playing the Tibetan monk. But this time I liked it better. I mostly just chuckle at the old special effects now as I'm really not a...
I just finished Planet of the Spiders. Better than I remember the first time. Good send off for Jon Pertwee. I don't recall ever hearing of the planet Metebelis and the crystals again, but I could be wrong. It would be nice to revisit it.Now on to Tom Baker, my all time favorite doctor.
