Does this apply to other characters as well? Or is it just dating black women that's a "stupid limitation?" Cause there's a bunch of white characters in ST that only hooked up with other white people.
(I know this has been rehashed, but as a black women it rubbed me the wrong way. Like...
I can’t remember, is this the only time Kira commands the Defiant over Worf? If so, I move to strike it from evidence That whole scenario was super plot-device contrived. There’s no way Jadzia should have been left behind to command the station instead of Kira unless they just conveniently...
LOL. They had to hook up, from the moment she stepped foot on the station it was inevitable, like Chekhovs Re-association. I’m glad they got it out of their systems and moved on as friends and the show didn’t try to put them together long term.
Loved the more serialized story telling. I remember when it aired how TPTB finally let them write DS9 the way they wanted to for years, though only because it was almost over and they cared more about Voyager.
Hated the whole Siskos mom storyline. I think him having chosen Bajor of his own...
I’m an original viewer from the 90s and it was no where near as popular as TNG. I thought the whole “Start trek without a ship” thing was dumb and didn’t watch it until season 3, when TNG was off the air.
This. Worf even makes a comment in Bar Association that Captain Sisko put him in charge of the Defiant.
Agreed. It always bothered me that in Nemesis Worf seemingly has left his position as ambassador to go back to his old job on the enterprise. How is firing phasers for Picard a better gig...
Before Discovery, I would have said Klingons. But I'm not a fan of what they've done to my favorite species so I'd rather they just leave them alone now.
I have enjoyed all the nuTrek movies solely based on the Enterprise characters/cast. But I really don't want to see another...
Thank you for this! I am kind of floored at how many people think Jadzia would be impulsive enough to be disloyal to her her husband. As Sisko pointed out in the wedding episode, she knew what she was getting herself into when she got with Worf. And she, probably even more than Worf, knows how...
I think he would have stayed a 2nd-tier character like O'Brien. I remember reading somewhere that Roddenberry wanted to show how different this new show was by having an old Federation enemy just casually working on the bridge like it was no big deal. Dorn isn't even in some of the earliest...
Agreed. I was active on fansites back then (Shoutout to The Great Link) and we all knew it was coming, it was just a question of how and when. I remember having the discussion of how they should have off-ed her in Change of Heart way back then.
At the time it came out, most people thought the show would tank because who wants to see a Star Trek show without a ship? How do you "Boldly Go" if you can't go anywhere?
But it became obvious that the station was a strength (at least to all of us) It allowed for a level of depth that IMO...
Is this ever specifically references in the show? How long does it take to get from the station to Earth or to the Klingon Homeworld? I get the impression that you can't simply beam to Bajor, you have to take a runabout/transport ship but that's the only real distance I can recall.
I love Worf and Jadzia together. I hate this episode. Here's why...
The central conflict between the characters is communication and differing expectations. Neither one of them is inherently wrong. Worf thinks it's inappropriate to be making pottery in your bathing suit with an ex (I...
There was definitely that throwaway line in "Firstborn" that implied Kurn had a family. My in-universe guess is that when Kurn lost it all, they probably left him as well, and when he went to Worf he had nothing and no one left. I doubt they were killed/murdered, though. Klingons are violent...
