Why no actual saucer shape ships?

not a Starfleet ship but some Kzinti ships are saucers. In an RP I was in based on the beginning of the warp era, it was those early Earth-Kzin conflicts that led to Earth adopting the saucer, since they obviously didn't get it from the Vulcans.

What’s that on your forehead, Gul?

Cardassians are actually a trigender species. In order to mate, the third gender, a small spoon shaped being called the Shelmikedmu is passed from forehead recess to forehead recess on the other two mates to pass genetic information and ensure pregnancy. The larger the Shelmkedmu the more likely...

Was Star Trek one of Hollywood's greatest losers of 2025?

ENT season2 had something like 4 to 5 million viewers on average. With Paramount Plus cliaming 79,000,000 subscrubers and SNW heavily advertised, I suspect more people saw season 3 of that show than ENT season 2.

They gotta big boomba. Very Big boomba bossa

Some of it depends on birth rate. If it turns out that advenced civs just gradually give up on reproduction we’re fucked , very long term.

They gotta big boomba. Very Big boomba bossa

I'll leave it to whoever comes along and cares at that point. At best they'll say "excellent.. more mass for the dyson swarm!

They gotta big boomba. Very Big boomba bossa

also the problem of how such a weapon would have been delivered. There's no icbm that can launch 30tons, so one would have to design one or repurpose a medium-heavy lift launch vehicle into one. I don't think a B-52 could have carried sundial, but I might be wrong. In any case, it would have...

Has Star Trek taught you about culture?

yes. many. Not sure about Trek channels, though.

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

controversial opinion: TOS got it right. Starships shouldn't have so many windows. Or any. Starfleet ships while not outright warships, are often ships engaged in war, not Royal Carribean cruises. Yes I realize the windows are probably not glass, except when they're clearly shown to be glass...

Was Star Trek one of Hollywood's greatest losers of 2025?

comparing a joke that went flat with the Sweeney advert is hyperbole at best. Anyway, Section 31 stunk. I'm surprised it even got 16%. Tommy Wiseau could have made a better Star Trek movie than whoever created that thing. But SNW season 3 was good. I don't think as a franchise Star Trek is...

Your honest opinion on the Berman era

Turkish Star Trek is better than PIC. But I'll differ on Discovery. It's flawed but I still like it. Voyager doesn't make me want to rewatch it.

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Not many. Just the better ones. Vulcanians are a different species from Humans and handle their sentience differently. A bottle nose dolphin may be as intelligent as a human being but their brains work in different ways. Nor are emotional responses going to be the same, species to species. As...

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Don’t try to frighten us with your pescatarian ways. Your sad devotion to Cartesian dualism hasn’t allowed you special comprehension of fish cognizance or given you and understanding of their mind’s umwelt.

the Trekkie Banjo Players Mutual Respect Union will be watching this thread carefully now. and it aint like we got a lot else to do..

What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Fish have an entire organ dedicated to sensing the water around them, changes in current, vibrations through it. It's called the lateral line. they notice the water in ways we can't comprehend. a REAL fish expert would have known that. and you call yourself an ichthyologist!

A New Look for Aurora (teaser)

I feel like this series will cleave through the obstacles that have been restraining other fan productions. It's difficult to realistically achieve that level of cleavage and be taken seriously, but this series is clearly willing to take the curvy path and not the obvious one.

Other shows and the Dominion War

It makes one wonder why Brian Brophy didn’t return?

Other shows and the Dominion War

it must have been a stressful time. It turned Bruce Maddox into an older Grisly Adams

Other shows and the Dominion War

PIC is the only show that really deals with it at all, and then it's just back clutter to whatever was going on each season. It was a terrible missed opportunity, but TentacleBots, Good Borgs, Bad Borgs, Q , etc were more interesting to the show runner than the idea of an entire quarter of the...
