SCIENCE BESTIES!
The only negative I can give is that I didn't want it to end. I think Ransom is going to be just fine, especially with Mariner as the co-XO to keep him on his toes.
Cerritos Strong!
"I wasn't going to race without my friends!"
Star Trek has always been a show about Chosen Family, but LD seems to get that on a deeper level than most.
I don't know when the show became something I loved instead of just something that I found really amusing, but here we are. I hate having to wait to find out what happens.
Cerritos Strong!
Total 9. And would have been just for the scene with "Space Oddity." Paul and Tilly have had a great big brother/little sister relationship, and that was just the best expression of it. What really sold it was that Paul was obviously scared too, but he was trying to hold it together for her...
I'm rating this one an 8, which is about where I'd leave the season. It wasn't as much pure fun as some of the previous episodes have been (Ensign Tilly being the obvious exception), but the good stuff outweighed the bad. I mean, the visit to the Orion market was everything we SHOULD have seen...
Alternately, the ISS Discovery was already destroyed in the MU. I don't think there was ever a clear indication that the two ships switched places, particularly since ISS Discovery didn't have a spore drive.
This was the first episode I've felt compelled to rewatch from beginning to end.
I don't know quite how to explain what I mean by this, but there was a moment at the beginning of the fight between Michael and Kol where she gets up after he knocks her down, and the look on her face was 100% Kira.
Since we also saw Janus VI and Starbase 11, which IIRC didn't have any connection to what Lorca was saying, I assumed that everything Michael saw were references to TOS episodes, and so it was Amerind.
It's too late. We've seen everything.
The only thing that depresses me about the whole Orville thing is that it proves we've learned nothing from the great DS9/B5 War of 1994-1998. I was hoping after the Armistice, reflection had led us to realize that it was okay for someone to prefer one...
