Spoilers PIC: Firewall by David Mack Review Thread

Getting caught up on the actual reviews on my Trek book review site has been slow going, but I finally published my review of Firewall. Loved this novel, it is very much deserving of the Scribe Award! Congrats, David!

So What Are you Reading?: Generations

Yeah, I took an Intro to Old English course in university, and it is mind-boggling how different the language is when compared to Modern or even Middle English. It is, in all the ways that matter, an almost completely different language.

    Spoilers Star Trek 400

I can answer this one at least, with spoilers for season two of Picard if you haven't seen it: Wesley is recruiting Kore, played by Isa Briones, in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Farewell."

Spoilers VOY: String Theory 2: Fusion by Kirsten Beyer Review Thread

Just posted my review over on TrekLit.com. Enjoyed this one for the most part. The story is very convoluted and at times confusing, but Kirsten Beyer's grasp on the voices of the characters and understanding of what makes them tick helped me to enjoy this one.

So What Are you Reading?: Generations

Recently finished TNG: Pliable Truths by Dayton Ward, and loved it. Given the subject matter, that was a given, but I didn't realize just how much I wanted a story set in that time period until I was reading it. Currently reading High Noon on Proxima B, a short story collection by various...

    2024 book releases

Are you referring to the 2016 revival? That was 8 years ago now (which, to be fair, I can barely wrap my mind around)! I don't think there's any chance anyone was referring to that.

Spoilers TNG: Pliable Truths by Dayton Ward - Review thread

If I can lend my take on the Nechayev issue, I think her comportment in this novel makes sense given the context. Remember that Picard has just returned to duty after having been captured and tortured by the Cardassians in the course of a mission that Nechayev sent him on. I can see a bit of...
