Any Fan Films in the Early TMP Era?

yeah after I saw the promo short for whatever-con, I too was pretty disappointed they went with a STVI aesthetic. But for sure this was cheaper. Constructing the original refit bridge would have been a lot more work. All the stations trim, glare shields, slide out hidden consoles, and not...

Poll Should the fans be running the show?

Perhaps.... but the evidence of their success is apparent, and rather overwhelming.

Poll Should the fans be running the show?

Rather than fans running the shows, Id rather see the show runner also be a fan - I think what John Favreau did with Mando S1 kinda shows how that would work well. Same with Terry and S3 Picard.

    Set blueprint exchange

A question regarding blueprints of older enterprises.... On the bridge, the damage control station has status monitors featuring the ship's hull and what looks like two different top view saucer decks. From what I can tell, these images were based on the Phase 2 version of the refit, not as it...

We need a new TV series taking place during ST VI: The Undiscovered Country

I would have been happy with any series set in the tmp-tuc timeline, but I dont think itll ever happen. I think as far as the management is concerned, its too old skool. So, if anything were to happen at all, it'd fall on the shoulders of fan productions. IE Starship Farragut, and the like...

So youre saying that the 'dead end' was some kind of mobile set extension that got moved into place when needed? Cause the corridor spoke youre speaking off always had a "T" junction at the far end. You see it in TMP as well as TWOK. Theres no turbolift door there

    Set blueprint exchange

Does any know where the dead end corridor was located on the stage 9 sets? This is the corridor where there was a turbolift at the end. We saw it in TWOK when Kirk and Mckoy are in the turbolift talking about the 'dangers of reopening old wounds" and mckoy says 'sorry'. I was looking at the...

    TWOK Stage 9 layout Question

Why was Enterprise received so poorly?

For me, I had a bad taste in my mouth about prequels since SW:PHantom Menace came out a few years earlier. Like TPM, I guess I just wasnt really interested in 'origin stories'. The opening theme song was atrocious and I had a really hard time getting past that. I didnt like the ship design...

    Favorite Enterprise Bridge?

Though I hated the movie, I thought the TFF bridge was a good transition towards what would later become the TNG aesthetic... Though i would have preferred to see the TVH bridge seeing as how we only got a 1 minute glimpse of it... I think the reason it like the TUC bridge the least is because...

    Favorite Enterprise Bridge?

TWOK, TFF, TNG GEN for me. Regarding the TWOK bridge, I also wish we saw more of the additional TMP sets like the Officers Lounge, Rec Deck and the Shuttle/Cargo Bay. Seemed like after TMP, the Enterprise got a lot smaller because of the lack of shot locations. Woulda been nice if they had...

The Wrath of Khan vs The Undiscovered Country

In one of the deleted scenes of twok from the theatrical version, when kirk has returned to the enterprise fomr the genesis planet, and theyre climbing through jefferies tubes to get to the bridge, he exclaims " I have a son!" to spock. I think that scene was brought back in later releases but...

    Set blueprint exchange

hah :) I have those blueprints in a box somewhere. Even the saucer profile (on the filming miniature) is slightly different from the refit connie prop, specifically the underside curvature. It bells out more at the navdome, and as a result, the lower saucer airlock doors dont look quite as...

    Set blueprint exchange

Yeah, the cygnus ones are junk really. Especially that one with the mega-phat torpedo launcher. But as you say, even the Lee Cole one's are a bit off. though its the best of the bunch overall. So many of these 'blueprints' arent blueprints or construction drawings at all - their concept...

Am I wrong in saying that Generations is the only TNG movie to LOOK like a movie?

Aaah, I dont know. I guess Paramount+ is bringing them all back, so you could check. But imo, buying the discs is the way to go.

The Wrath of Khan vs The Undiscovered Country

between the two, I think TWOK was superior, but I like them both. But after the good folks over at OTOY had put out their Memory Wall clips, I find myself thinking more about the "styles of storytelling" we saw in the TOS cast movies. And I find myself appreciating TMP even more than before...

Am I wrong in saying that Generations is the only TNG movie to LOOK like a movie?

I recently bought the 4 disc TNG Movie UHD/HDR set. And I gotta say, of the four, Generations looks absolutely stunning visually. Both because of the HDR in the mastering, but also just how scenes were lit in general ad how the shots were framed. Everything just looked awesome. Very...
