We find the one quite sufficient

Watching the episode when I was a child, I’d always assumed that “the One” was another way of saying “the self,” as in Kirk and his colleagues didn’t need to reach outside themselves for guidance—they found “the One” sufficient. (It was only as I grew older that I saw a religious, monotheistic...

    Script blunders!

Regarding script errors, in “Who Mourns for Adonais?” the entity on the planet announces to Kirk and his landing party that he is the Greek god, Apollo. A short time later on the Enterprise, which is out of touch with the landing party (with Uhura trying to restore communications), Spock asks...

    Uhura's Birthplace?

And in The Animated Series episode “The Magicks of Megas-Tu,” Sulu briefly conjured a woman apparently as a potential love interest:

    Plato's Stepchildren Syndication Music Query

Actually, any a cappella musical performances are not included in the soundtrack set, so the upbeat version, “Steppin’ in to Eden...” which the space hippies sing just before they leave Auxiliary Control to go to the (alleged) Eden planet isn’t included. The same is true of Alexander’s spoken...

    Plato's Stepchildren Syndication Music Query

If you mean the instrumental version of “Charlie’s our new darling...” from “Charlie X” which was used during a Captain’s Log entry at the beginning Act 1 of “The Way to Eden,” sadly it wasn’t included in the complete box set. The version with Uhura’s vocal and musical accompaniment (from...

    Bright spots in dreary episodes

One of my favorite scenes in the original series occurs in “Spock’s Brain”... I really like the scene with Kirk, Sulu, Uhura and Chekov discussing which planet to search for Spock’s brain. It’s a rare ensemble scene with the supporting cast.

WTF moments in TOS & TAS....

As Science Officer, Spock really should know the difference between a beaker and an Erlenmeyer flask, should he not?

    Restoring TAS

There isn’t a full episode of TAS with TOS music, but there is a trailer:

Was there ever a sound track released for The Animated Series?

"Charlie Is My Darling" minus vocals is used in "The Way to Eden" during the Captain's Log after the opening credits. It's a shame that instrumental version wasn't included in the La La Land releases. (I enjoyed all the other music that La La Land did include in their releases, of course!)

    Most disappointing original Trek episode....

Maybe "Death to you all! Death to you all! Death to you all!" as Gorgon did in "And the Children Shall Lead"? LOL ;)

    Most disappointing original Trek episode....

I think "The Alternative Factor" is the worst episode of the original series not only for all the reasons others have mentioned, but because it was produced between "Arena" and "Tomorrow Is Yesterday" (and in the same portion of the season that included "Shore Leave," "The Squire of Gothos," "A...

    Gay Star Trek

What?! There are other gay TOS fans besides me?!! I was beginning to feel like the Planet M113 salt vampire--the last of my race! ; ) Great link, too, btw!

    Day of the Dove

Yes, the episode as aired in Indy followed a logical progression (and didn't cut straight from the opening credits to everyone brandishing swords in the Crew Lounge), but many great scenes were cut which really hurt this episode! The turbolift conversation which Kirk, Spock, McCoy and Chekov...

New Time for TOS-R in Indy

I think the 9 PM airing in Indy was a fluke and perhaps the WNDY-23 website is incorrect (at least that's what I'm hoping). Although "A Taste of Armageddon" was on at 9, "Tomorrow Is Yesterday" was on last Saturday on WNDY-23 at 10:35 PM. Sorry you missed the revamped Eminiar VII two weeks...
