I finished Dark Skies TV series, now starting Space Above And Beyond

That's... still wrong. Pilots are officers. They outrank pretty much anyone else on those ground missions. Looking at wikipedia, the regulars are either captains or lieutenants. Who's giving them orders?

Star Trek Generations novelization with original Kirk ending available anywhere in digital?

Not that anyone asked, but as far as I know, the YA novelization by John Vornholt only had one edition, though I don't recall checking back then. It came out at the same time as JM Dillard's hardcover and almost certainly had the original ending. (Each of the TNG movies had a JM Dillard...

Spoilers The Story & the Engine grade and discussion thread

I still wonder if all this fantasy and gods stuff is happening because the Doctor's not in his usual reality but in some other realm like the Land of Fiction. Or heck, maybe the Time War and Flux damaged the universe to the extent that science isn't what it used to be, back in the days when...

    The Real Trouble with Tribbles

And as for the crossover: https://amazingstories.com/2014/06/amazing-news-gerrolds-doctor-enterprise-comic-completed/ The full Seuss book was available as an exhibit in one of the court filings, though I don't remember where I came across it. Ty Templeton's art was a perfect blend of Seuss and...

    Spoilers Mrs. Flood Theories

The Timeless Stepmom? The Timeless Babysitter? Has someone mentioned that Anita Dobson's married to Brian May from Queen and I just forgot about that? Also, shame she quit Eastenders a few years before Dimensions in Time happened. RTD worked a few years later on Corrie, Eastenders' predecessor...

Spoilers The Story & the Engine grade and discussion thread

Yeah, I wasn't all that keen overall last season, but this season's working a lot better for me. The Eurovision in space episode may be a bit more of a challenge, though. Still, my spreadsheet shows I have actually listened to Big Finish's Eurovision in space story, Bang Bang a Boom, with the...

    Who, Gaiman? Seems unlikely.

I wonder how much it was rewritten by RTD, who's said in the past that he sometimes does a lot of rewriting on other people's scripts.

    The Real Trouble with Tribbles

We're talking about the David Gerrold who wrote an unlicenced Star Trek/Doctor Who crossover and called it a parody to get it published, right? The guy who got sued over a Doctor Seuss knockoff book? He may have a slightly different notion of copyright. And I didn't even mention the whole...

Spoilers The Story & the Engine grade and discussion thread

I've read many articles and stories by Black Americans or Canadians or whoever who've been to Africa and been almost overwhelmed by the feeling of suddenly no longer being a minority but being like everyone around them, and no one looking at them as something different. I don't imagine it's even...

Spoilers VOY DOC: To The Journey | Rating and Review

The main difference between To the Journey and What We Leave Behind is that only the latter really has a point to make -- that DS9 was unfairly underappreciated. To the Journey is, basically, let's talk about Voyager. There isn't anything really driving it in the same way, so it doesn't have...

Spoilers VOY DOC: To The Journey | Rating and Review

Admitting bias up front: I was not a big Voyager fan. I've warmed a bit to it since but it's not close to being in my top five favourite Star Trek series. But after the DS9 documentary, I figured I should support this one. That was... okay. The DS9 documentary felt like something special, if a...

Still not sure where RTD is going with all this gods business, but in general, this one was a solid wow. Not least that cameo.

    Babylon 5

It's a brave thing to do, restarting your life and career at 70 in a new country. It's also hard not to think it's the end of any new Babylon 5 projects. Well, for me, anyway. For some, hope will spring eternal. I don't think he'd be a good fit for Doctor Who, but a guy who worked on Murder...

Anyone given any thought to her being Master of the Land of Fiction?

Spoilers The Well grade and discussion thread

In my opinion, at least, we're three for three this season. I'm liking it more than last season. I'm not sure how much the story gained from being tied to "Midnight," given that the entity didn't behave in the same way. I also don't think the story logic would hold up very well under close...

Spoilers Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

We'll have none of this emotional Doctor stuff, thank you very much.

Spirits, ghosts, and that kind of stuff

What's bigger, an infinite space or an infinite number of people?
  20. Steve Roby

Spirits, ghosts, and that kind of stuff

I remember looking at that a couple of times but not buying it. Because Golden Press and Gold Key were the same company. The four Enterprise Logs books reprinting early Gold Key Star Trek comics were published as by Golden Press.
