Spoilers STAR TREK: SECTION 31 - Grading & Discussion

I generously gave it a 3. Anyone who gets motion sickness should AVOID this thing. Probably the worst-written, directed Trek program I've ever seen. The crew taking turns "insulting" each other was beyond cringe worthy.

News Star Trek: Section 31 Movie with Michelle Yeoh Announced!

Finally got to see the trailer. Reminds me of League of Extraordinary Gentleman, on steroids. I would rather have seen something cerebral, but that was never getting green lit.

Spoilers The Roddenberry Archive brings every iteration of Star Trek’s USS Enterprise bridge to life

"and if my grandmother had wheels, she'd be a wagon." No such thought went into this project, it's a tech demo intermixed with old Trek actors.

Spoilers The Roddenberry Archive brings every iteration of Star Trek’s USS Enterprise bridge to life

Look I used to beat the Bring Back Kirk drum for years and years, on the old Trek boards including Shatner.com. I figured, even if it was a brief "trailer" for his actual return, that would have been neat. Idk what in the world what they actually did was supposed to be, I really don't. Wasted...

Spoilers The Roddenberry Archive brings every iteration of Star Trek’s USS Enterprise bridge to life

I saw this "short" being teased about, and didn't think much of it. Then I watched it, and will admit, the costumes, the artwork, the CGI, was all very impressive. Then about midway, as my anticipation was building for an actual return of Shatner's James T. Kirk, we got essentially nothing...

VARIETY: Paramount-Skydance merger collapsed in the final moments, and will lead to layoffs and austerity measures

This is the craziest thing I've ever seen. How many times has this studio been close to being sold, in the last 6 months?

Spoilers Season 5 as a Whole

I just finished S5 watch, over the past few weeks. I was highly entertained by the treasure hunt aspect of the season. Moll and L'ak were fine foils and their love story was decent, plus Eve Harlow is quite enchanting. I was pleased with the "lack" of Discovery crew-based soap opera drama...

Another movie that will never get made is announced!

Feature Films are extremely expensive these days. It's not the days of budget Trek filmmaking that Harve Bennett was so great at. Everything is flush with expensive digital work. A Star Trek film is incredibly risky for Paramount, so unless they have something in the works that is a no...

News Starfleet Academy Coming to P+

I think what the veteran fans don't like is bad television, and that's what they've been treated to. It's the fault of lazy writers. TOS/TNG/DS9 whatever, they presented diversity as something that was so acceptable in the future that the characters rarely if ever had to say something about...

    Picard film in development

Given the tepid box office response to Harrison Ford's final Indiana Jones, a film I really liked, I cannot see why Paramount would even consider another Picard/TNG feature? To be released limited but mainly on PPlus, well maybe, but idk that's an odd expenditure for a company that's in the red.

Spock/Chapel are not a good couple. The build up was the ''fun'' part

I love the "new" Chapel character, the romance is what it is. Clearly the writers are stuck in that canon box though.

What's your unpopular opinions on SNW?

I think the new Scotty is too short, has too thick an accent.

What's your unpopular opinions on SNW?

Spock has become an afterthought on this show. His lone story lines are relationships, blehhh.

    Rewatching TOS After SNW

Would not be surprised if they did. Not sure how I feel about that. When the time comes, I probably won't care. Thank the Prophets Abrams' films are ignored!

    Prediction: How many seasons?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television_deficit_financing I'm talking about "deficit financing," this was how scripted series worked, financially, for idk 5 or 6 decades. Studio sells the show to network at below production costs, expecting to recoup that shortfall and more in syndication and...

    Rewatching TOS After SNW

I like the analogy! Unfortunately for many people, this is a source of frustration. Thank you!

    Prediction: How many seasons?

The shows lose massive of amounts of money. In the old days, you recouped with ads, which nobody wants to watch anymore, or via syndication, which is mostly dead. Meanwhile, these networks are still getting $ from cable subs, but have nothing to put on those networks because again, of...

    Rewatching TOS After SNW

I wasn't born yesterday, and you've made my point for me. I'm not here to chastise the writers for turning the women on board into actual characters. My point is that TOS and SNW really cannot be connected outside of some potential plot points. These are not the same "characters." This is...

    Prediction: How many seasons?

Netflix password crackdown was a one-time boost. Streaming is a broken model. They don't have enough content to justify these prices, and the production costs are astronomical on many of them, including every Trek series. You can no longer make that back on syndication.
