I give it a B+. Indy's final adventure is a fun one. Director James Mangold manages to keep consistent with Spielberg's style. The opening has some of the best deep fake I've ever seen. If I had a complaint I would have shortened the opening. That's really the only negative of the film. It...
Rick Berman would want a movie that "just happens to be a Star Trek movie." Two characters would get all the spotlight (Sisko and Odo?) while all the other characters would get bit parts, throw in a Khan like villain and you're headed for a disaster. I don't think he'd give Ira Steven Behr full...
Excellent and insightful interview with Kate Mulgrew. Gates talks to her about her books and subjects like religion and life and death, growing old...
The thing I love about her podcast is it's very much a comfortable and warm conversation between two people or friends and you just happened to...
Was Chamomile tea the exact tea Worf drank with Kevin and Rishon Uxbridge in the TNG episode The Survivors?
I can't seem to recall if it was exactly named but it's got to be a reference to that scene anyways.
"Good tea, nice house "
Also, Kevin became a pacifist, even though we know Worf...
Gates interviewed William Shatner in her latest podcast. Shatner is a good guest he listens and also asks Gates about her life. They had a great back and forth.
The Michael Westmore interview was also good. He gave a lot of anecdotes about the films he has worked on in the past. One particular...
Regarding Jack looking old for his age, it's just in the fine tradition of 30 something year olds playing teenagers like the cast of Grease or 90210. Besides at least he's playing someone in their mid-twenties.
Ed Speleers is doing a great job. I buy him as Picard and Crusher's son. Suspension...
I listened to the Marina Sirtis interview and learned her father was a tailor and made all of Roger Moore's Bond suits. I'm a huge 007 fan and this was some pretty cool info. The podcast isn't really about Star Trek but you learn a lot about the individual's life. I'm enjoying it.
Gates has a podcast on Spotify. It's pretty good. I caught the two episodes with Wil Wheaton and learned some interesting stuff. I see she also has Brent Spiner, Nana Visitor, Michael Dorn, Denise Crosby and a bunch of other Star Trek alum. Worth checking out.
So sad and she continued to work while battling cancer. That's just.. wow... strong woman. I really loved her portrayal of the Borg Queen. She did an excellent job. Rest in peace.
I'm about halfway through the Michael Dorn interview and it's really good stuff! I like that they brought up Rocky. It was great to hear some of the behind the scenes stories about Stallone. Michael seems like a real cool chill dude. I'm going to listen to the rest tomorrow.
I hope there is a second season. I see potential but this season was disappointing. Like I said in my previous post Willow needs to be more front and center. The other characters are fine but a little too much focus was on them while Airk got very little screen time. Elora fared the best and she...
TOS:
For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
The Conscience of the King
The City on the Edge of Forever
Amok Time
Dagger of the Mind
Bread and Circuses
TNG:
The Arsenal of Freedom

The Icarus Factor

1. Berman Trek: Most consistent and stable Trek. TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT and The TNG movies are all pretty solid and have some of the best moments in Trek. TNG and DS9 in particular are two of the best science fiction series of all time
2. Roddenberry Trek: The blueprint to what Trek is all about...
I remember watching it when it first premiered and loving it right off the bat. The characters all looked so interesting to me and tying it into The Best of Both Worlds was a great idea which hooked me immediately.
I swear I was about to check the spelling before I hit post but I was like nah that looks right. I think it is because of the way they pronounce it on the show which is sticking more in my head than the movie and yes it's annoying.
