The old Trek series is leaving Netflix.

They have all the Taylor Sheridan shows, The Good Fight, Evil, Yellowjackets, Mayor of Kingstown, Lioness etc., which are all successful and/or critically acclaimed and I'm sure several of them do better than Star Trek which really isn't that big anymore outside the fandom bubble.

The old Trek series is leaving Netflix.

...the lone exception.) Star Trek is Paramount+'s bread and butter. It is literally a make or break property for them. Without Trek, I'm pretty sure the service would fold. (Even the announcement video for the new Spaceballs movie jokes about it being an entire streaming service devoted to Star...

The Most Disliked Episode of LDS, Season 1 - 2025 Edition...

...I NEVER thought it possible to make the Pakleds... THE PAKLEDS... an actual danger! And LOWER DECKS somehow managed to turn possibly the biggest joke of a species in the entire franchise (certainly from the Berman era, at the very least) into a legitimate threat. These writers are absolutely...

    ST: TNG Rewatch

...claim how great the boy is. The story presents a universe of wonder and exploration that holds up really well, even the Traveler and the obvious jokes that youtube channels put out. The best part is how the far-off space was meticulously animated and put on 35mm film, discovered and cleaned...

...OMG! Reed Richards is a certain mid tier favoured search filter on pornhub. 4 possibilities. 1. This is an accidental coincidence. 2. This is an unintentional subliminal manifestation of the author's id. 3. This is a hilarious joke that no one got. 4. This is a hilarious joke that...

    What are you watching???

They are both Executive Producers. When Redford says, "George, the whole world is waiting. Make a move." (I always took that as a joke that GRRM could never finish his other series).

    Keeping Tasha

...the life of their second officers and Data quips "Fortunately, Starfleet has no such rules involving our second officers." Now you could argue that the statement can be a general statement, but it's heavily implied that the Joke data is making is that he's grateful they don't have that rule.

Spoilers Starfleet Academy General Discussion Thread

Star Trek has never done that though. Star Trek is not the Godfather, it is not Shakespeare, hell it isn't even always as progressive as MASH or Night Court. It has always done the update thing, from TMP, to TNG, to DS9 to First Contact, and onwards. It isn't a period piece but a speculative...

anyhow, aside from the obesity joke, I'll be honest, I don't feel optimistic about this show. I think that the concept of "updated for modern audiences" is a fallacy that is used for too often.... one of the things that makes good content is that it appeals to multiple demographics, multiple...

Well, that‘s why I was telling you, because I knew you weren‘t aware of it. It‘s less of a “hypersensitivity” and more common decency. “Let‘s not judge someone negatively because of their body” is not some super woke or out there concept, I should think. I trust you‘ll manage. I‘m not sure what...

Bold move, saying "it's a joke" after the backlash. Jokes usually don't need that much explaining.

...show produced as entertainment for a 20th century audience and not a real attempt to completely depict actual day to day life in a time 350 years in the future. (And jokes should contain actual humor to be considered actual jokes. It's not "Hypersensitivity' to call out blatantly rude comments.)

Ok, well then, I was unaware of the hypersensitivity, but I'll stand by my joke, that's what it was a joke, from a place of experience and knowledge. One would think that those conditions I mentioned would have been solved by the 32nd century, but apparently not, Suffice to say, do not expect...
