Spoilers All Things STAR WARS - News, Speculation & Spoilers Thread

I'm pretty sure they were bootleg but I could be mistaken. And I see the Star Wars holiday special everywhere. I've had a VHS copy since the late 90s, but never switched to disc because it's readily available on youtube. At any rate, this is what I was looking for and I found it... :)...

Spoilers The War Between the Land and the Sea discussion thread

So, once again, Russell T. Davies has shown the Doctor Who fandom and audiences at large that he's unfit for duty and that he needs to leave. To quote a DoctorWhoTV article, "I'm just waiting for the 2026 Christmas special where Father Christmas becomes 'SantX, liberator of the...

    box office

One of the big problems this movie, and Gunn's The Suicide Squad later on, had box-office-wise is that probably the biggest demographic in the Harley Quinn fanbase is teenage girls, so while an R-rating may make sense for the character itself, it is poison for the box office performance. WB saw...

The Delta Flyers now covering DS9

Where is this forum? Good for you. I've said it before, but Garrett is arguably the least funny person on the planet. And, speaking of patrons, if I never hear another pretentious screed from wanna-be director Jason Oaken, it'll be too soon.

    box office

Yeah, I agree with this. I was disappointed at first when I realized the Birds of Prey and even the individual heroes only vaguely resembled their comics counterparts, but that didn't last very long because the story and acting were so much fun.

The Delta Flyers now covering DS9

...bad even their Patreon forum isn't impressed and they are normally 99% positive. I was only a low level member but I've cancelled now, this episode was the final straw. I'm sure i can live without their nonsense ratings, Garrett's 'comedy' missing scenes and their patrons repetitive...

    box office

BoP was a great movie that got terrible publicity because it pissed off BoP comics fan for being basically nothing like the comics. But I think the main thing that brought it down was the R rating. It just wasn't the type of movie R rated audiences tend to embrace and being R rated tends to be a...

Mech's Assorted Trek Stuff (mostly 3d models, some art)

Sprouting Escape Pods like mushrooms ha As part of the blockout I am making sure that the ship actually has not only enough escape pods for all the crew, but also that said pods are reasonably accessible from the main inhabited areas of the ship. So some poor redshirt isn't stuck having to run...

A few things to discuss about Kes

Arghhh. I hate that. And it won't let me fix it, so we have to redo most of it from scratch. Fully agreed about the first two. As for the third, I didn't read it. But given that the books aren't canon, I wouldn't worry too much. Some people like things like that. Different strokes. Again...

From now on one show at a time?

...Academy around if only for the fact that a new show in it's place means making all new sets, hiring all new actors and a longer wait time before a new season of Trek is in front of people making them money. Of course ratings could tank for it so much that doing that ends up worth it regardless.

Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

Especially if they saw the uncensored version with the nude scenes, as opposed to the G-rated American cut, which was surely the version we saw at the drive-in as kids. (Imagine my surprise when I caught the uncut version on TCM a few years back.)

    Tricorder, TOS

There is something about Multitronics that most of us overlook. Dr. Daystrom "imposed" memory engrams on the computer circuitry. He seems to like imposing. So, the question is what was imposed on the predecessor system Comptronics? Please remember that the M-5 listed Dr. Daystrom's...

A few things to discuss about Kes

Which is not what I described at all so this example is meaningless. Yeah. I give up. Destruction simply doesn't exist to me the way it's being described.

A few things to discuss about Kes

I can't see destruction just for the sake of destruction as "art". I do find characters like Khan, Dukat and Gul Mardred good since they contribute to a good story even if I don't find them likeable. yes it can in certain circumstances. But not the way it has been done too many times in Star...

The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

...on the surface but, at its core, it's 99% negative, with the occasional puff-piece about someone saving a pet from the aftermath of a tornado or some charity work being done at a local soup kitchen. Negativity in general and panic porn in particular moves the ratings needle like nothing else.

...midseason hiatus between Stargates SG-1 and Atlantis longer than the hiatus between the seasons themselves. These scheduling games hurt the ratings for the Stargates and BSG. However, with BSG, they ended up having to do this anyway due to the strike you mentioned throwing a wrench into...

    Is DS9 worth binging?

I kind of assumed the question basically meant just watching DS9 at a rate of 1-3 episodes a day. As others have noted, "binging" is a bit of an ambiguous term. I usually will watch one episode of something per night, though I've been known to make exceptions if I got especially hooked. I just...

Poll Would you purchase a legit remaster of DS9?

LMAO, it is, they used Topaz AI, which doesn't compare to a rescan. That's what caused the "I love Lucy" criticism in recent memory. People should be able to distinguish what "AI" means by the subject. No one here is saying they used an LLM, in the context of this, it means "Image Enhancement...

    The Classic/Retro Pop Culture Thread

I don't think they normally put hour-long action/adventure/drama shows in the mid-morning, though. More likely a new Sunday afternoon format. They had a cop show format on Sundays for a long time years back. I think he was just marveling at her powers. :p And "keeper" was meant as a pun, if...
