I won't start building my Enterprise until the new year, but I've just seen it in the flesh in the Copenhagen Lego shop - it's huge! Don't know where I'm going to put it lol. It does look incredible!

It's a phaser printed on a little slope element. It doesn't quite work! But anything else would have needed a bespoke piece.

I think it's as simple as it being minifig scale and tapping into the kid part of the brain that remembers playing with Lego cars and fire engines, and a perfectly-scaled shuttlecraft fits into that too. They did an amazing job with the angles and it's such a shame this isn't a regular set...

Yeah that was only the original pitch, they changed to do full crew waves based on feedback. But the interim waves are still mainly deep cuts that haven't been done before.

I think they look good on screen, but they are also totally ridiculous. The Prisoner of Zenda-style, fussy blazers covered in ornamentation and shiny buttons are a bizarre outlier in the world of sleek, minimalist Star Trek stylings.

Turns out those orange/red plates used for the impulse engine are actually a new colour for that piece, so Lego nerds are super excited for them.

Got my Shuttlepod and the other two GWPs today too. I think I'll have to build the shuttle this weekend, but the Enterprise will have to wait until after Christmas.

I do think some of this looks worse than S13, where the issues were mainly film sequences. The VT material really does not need this kind of thing.
