That sounds very vindictive. I seriously don't think that is Volm policy. The narrative does not match. Cochise strikes me as more of a Civil Affairs army officer who is on liaison duty with the natives which is us.

Churchill was the leader of his people and had the authority to set policy. If evidence is so important, then where is the evidence that Cochise is leader of all the Volm and has the authority to set policy for them? As far as I can tell Cochise is just a soldier leading a small group of scouts.

Wiki has tried that before, but since it's trapped in the computer it makes the procedure difficult to say the least...

I loved Cochise reaction to the beach plane. Quite realistic. "You expect me to fly in this thing?"

How long will Moon Bloodstone be out? I wonder if they filmed bits and pieces for the next few episodes, just enough to keep that plot line going. Will the people in Charleston believe the President's (er, Professor's) wife has been abducted? Again we see the border of Charleston isn't quite secure since a mother and her baby can walk past unnoticed. Once again Hal is also able to slip through the lines. His wanderings might be acceptable though, since he is a solder. Much harder to explain why Anne would take the baby into enemy held territory.

Speaking of land area... Earth is 92.5 million square miles of land. How many alien invaders would be necessary to control and occupy the Earth? Now, granted, a lot of that land is rugged or desert and therefore not worth occupying, but there should still be sufficient land available for resistance to hide out in and life to go on unnoticed by the alien invaders. It took the US almost 10 years to find Bin Laden and he was hiding out in a relatively small region of the planet.

It would be interesting to see stories from other resistance groups around the globe.

Back to Charleston and the sudden assaults. Is Lourdes dead? Is Dr. Kadar dead? Will these assaults be linked to Anne? How long before anyone finds Dr. Kadar?

Doctor Kadar, yea, they made a point of pointing out he doesn't get many visitors, so, yea, it's likely after a whack like that he won't survive.

Lourdes, we don't know if she was poisoned to death or just poisoned to sleep. She's been in most of the episodes, so, that'sa pretty cruddy death to give her (And I believe she's the only other Medical personnel, isn't she?). So, she'll probably be found and survive (Or Anne only knocked her out, they've been close friends all along, so, I can't imagine she'd kill Lourdes unless there was no other way)

I think someone posted a page or two back that Moon Bloodgood went on Maternity Leave for the rest of the Season, so, she probably won't return until next Season. It's possible it will be like "Pregnancy Comas" in Soap Operas, where they filmed little scenes ahead of time to splice in, to show what's going on with her in the remaining 6 episodes. I suspect though, that we won't see her until possibly a quick cliffhanger in the finale or not until Next Season

    Your answer...
I read that the producers thought they would have more time with her than they did, but they are just recently finishing the last few episodes and she is most likely missing from those too.

    Vindictive or zealous?

Cochise's great grandparents were born on his ship and were fighting the Aspheni because of a failed invasion hundreds of years ago and his great children he suspects might be still fighting the same war on the same ships, probably in the same body armour with literally the same weapons.

This was said on the show.

Either they're still looking for clues to find the Aspheni central command, or the Aspheni homeworld to effect a surrender after HUNDREDS of years, or surrender is not good enough and they have already set the Ashpeni home world on fire.

There are two political models in play called Victory conditions and failure conditions. At some point the Volm are going to achieve criteria for one of those conditions and go home, or be dead. After hundreds of years chasing and killing the same enemy, then their children, then their children, then their children... Genocide seems to be the only victory condition the Volm are interested in, if murdering the great great great grand children of an asshole who done you wrong is the only release you have from your personal demons, then you're a little unsettled.

I said earlier that the US and many other countries probably tried and failed to surrender because the Aspenni just kept taking children and levelling cities while ignoring plea's for mercy. If the Volm are unstoppable, how come the Aspheni haven't successfully surrendered? Maybe they haven't tried, or maybe the Volm's answer to Asphenni surrender is "Suck it."

Which makes you wonder if right now that Asphenni surrender is on the table and everything on Earth would be cleared up in a couple hours if the Volm would accpet the "terms" of the Aspheni's surrender which in the least probably insists that they are not all executed for the war crimes of their great grand parents.

In world war two Hitler killed himself (supposedly) as Russian and Allied Troops sandwiched his bunker and a surrender was put into effect by his seconds in seconds. Sure the country was carved up for a few decades but it's not like immediately the German people were disposed of, even though their taxes had already paid for the construction of just the devices to accomplish such a feat and it was really a waste for Stalin not to use these shiny new toys... The point is that the Germans, 40 million of them, were not exterminated lock stock and barrel the second they surrendered becuase some of them thought Hitler had a few good ideas once upon a time.

Go back a couple thousand years, Carthage got two strikes, where there was just a little slap on the wrist for failed war against Rome, but after the third Punic War, Rome said FUCK THIS! Executed every male Carthaginian, including children, took the woman as slaves, levelled their cites and then salted the Earth so that nothing could grow where Carthage had been.

How long is America going to stay in the middle east even when the reason they went there, 911 and wmds, were out right lies from a liars, and Iraq has sold it's oil leases to China who undercut the insulting US bid.

    10 years?

    100 years?

    1000 years?

Seriously, this is how the USSR lost the cold war. Overspending on useless shit until their economy collapsed.

    Of course...

The Aspeni could be incredibly long lived.

These could be the same bastards who sacked the Volm Homeworld.

    In which case, never mind.

I'll be very disappointed if Cochise wasn't telling the truth.

Also, I'm sure that both Lourdes and the agoraphobic professor are alive; they won't turn Anne into a murderer.

Something to consider, if the Volm do turn out to be enemies, I wonder if somehow they can control the de-harnessed kids since it their machine that has been de-harnessing them? Maybe the machine did something to them secretly while removing the harness. Ben and his friend would not be affected since the elected to not have the spikes removed. Almost seems like that could be a plot device sown the road if the Volm are actually hostile.

It could also be that their de-harnassing machine is responsible for the DNA anomalies in the baby.

Would it be considered hostile if the Volm told humans to pony up for continuing the war effort? Outfitting the next expedition to an enemy-held planet could require a lot of taxes. You don't have to have cartoon evil aliens to have serious, serious conflicts post-war.

That was floated a couple pages ago.

But if the Volm are accidentally or intentionally responsible for the superbaby, why do the Aspheni want it? Removing this piece from the board could actually help the humans if it's really some sort of Trojan Horse.

That wasn't specifically stated in the episode (Or at least directly implied)?

Wasn't the President [Charleston Chapter ] captured by the Fishy's in season one - couldn't he have been 'prepared' at that time? That allows natural <sort of> progression of DNA to his wife...

I suppose so, but, that would be some amazing technology, wouldn't it? It would be far easier technologically to mess with the fertilized egg, I would imagine

Well, Tom had the implant, would could have messed with his DNA-- or at least his sperm-- which would explain why Hal and those kids were waiting for Anne. I just don't remember if that was before Anne got pregnant. We also don't know how far along in the pregnancy she was when she started using that machine.

The alien plan was to interrogate, then execute Tom. It was only Redeye's intervention that saved Tom. There would be no reason for the unspellable aliens to have monkeyed with the testicles of a man they were not going to set free. If the whozis are responsible, it is likely that Hal was the agent and Hal's "probe" the means. However, the only reason as of now for the baby's kidnapping would appear to be as leverage on Tom. Since Hal would himself be leverage or even probably able to kidnap Anne and the baby, it is hard to see what the [slurred vowels and consonants] would bother to engineer Alexis for.

The baby may be a product of Volm interference detected by Hal's "probe" and kidnapped by Karen to foil the Volm plan. The Volm seem to be very committed to a very long war. Improving the next crop of soldiers from allies might strike them as a prudent thing to do.

Cochise is a Volm Green Beret. They are special forces that specialize in providing training and assistance to resistance forces.
Also, from Cochise little speech, it seems likely that the Volm and Espheni are fighting a war at STL speeds...
It would explain the economy of force used by both sides.
And Guy's scenario occured to me shortly after the episode ended. Fighting a war at STL speeds takes serious dedication or, one might say, fanaticism.

Tom Hank's did a semibiographical/history movie in 2007ish called Charlie Wilson's war, where it shows the strange journey of Senator Charlie Wilson, raising capital and good will on the hill, in secret, so that he can buy "many, many, many" shoulder mounted rocket launchers for the Afghanistani rebels, and then arrange transportion of these weapons by CIA trained donkeys, to pick off invading Russian attack hellicoptors.

    Saved the world.
