Hello, thread! Have been absent this past weekend. There was plenty of trek in my house on Saturday, as my husband's friends whose trek knowledge exceeds any other human's of my personal acquaintance came over for bbq and beer (we had the makings for gin rickeys, but alas, they chose to stick to brews). Less Janeway bashing than I expected, but still much extolling of her virtues as a captain was heard from me!

And then on Sunday, I indulged in one of my very favorite guilty pleasures. I shall share a picture.

She really is a lifesaver. She said that she's going to try, but it depends if she can find download links.

Apparently she found last night's episode, which was Jeri Ryan's first and that is up on YouTube.

And I know about the free trial, but it gave me grief when it downloaded so I just gave up. :lol:

^ That's AJ McLean and Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys! I went to the NKOTBSB show with my sisters and we paid for the VIP package to go to their meet & greet. They sang a couple of songs on stage, then we met them and took pictures. Just the BSB.

Picture was off my phone bc I couldn't find my camera. My son has confiscated it as his own and I have no idea where it is!

Anyway, what's in a gin rickey, my DH bought some Tanqueray and that's what I want to do with it. LOL.

But no tonic, it is gin, soda water and lime. Makes for quite a different drink (and less sweet too).

My bad. I always mix that up because my friend makes them (with soda), but calls them "special gin & tonics". Until this thread got started, we thought she invented them.

Turns out we only have tonic, no soda. Also, DH suddenly "doesn't want a gin rickey." Pfft!

I thought they were great, better than gin and tonics. I like the crispness and the lime, the tonic is too much sugar, especially if I'm having several. LOL.

Currently dieting for Kate though so won't be drinking any!
