What's that in navy beans?UFP money coinage is based on klingon foreheads. The Smoothee is worth 1/16 of quatloo. The DISCO-BUMP is one smidgen of gold pressed latinum and the TNG Ridge is so common it is almost worthless.

Being man-made does very obviously not rule out sentience, while humans/ organic beings are essentially machines composed of "soft" materials. When Riker turns Data off, everyone is shocked and baffled as if he presents some ingenious, nearly irrefutable evidence or some bullshit. Picard is like, "He almost convinced me" totally ignoring organics can also be "deactivated" and altered in several ways. During Picard's torture in Cardassian captivity he is implanted with a device allowing anyone to cause him physical pain at the press of a button. Does that make Picard an object or pet without rights?
And now you understand why I would want to relocate a "Soong Type Androids" On/Off switch to be hidden straight up his Arse instead of being on the lower area around his spine. Most people understandably don't want to or even tend to think of circumstances like that and even if they did that feels like a much more unlikely and forced, artificial, forced, compelled scenario than just being artificial and so *that* manipulable to start with.
That would hinder your android being fully functional and programmed in multiple techniques. And now you understand why I would want to relocate a "Soong Type Androids" On/Off switch to be hidden straight up his Arse instead of being on the lower area around his spine.
Most people wouldn't think about reaching in there to Activate/DeActivate their android unless in extreme circumstances.
Losing 1x Technique isn't the end all. That would hinder your android being fully functional and programmed in multiple techniques.
You'll never compete with the holographic market with that attitudeLosing 1x Technique isn't the end all.
Being "mostly functional" and programmed in "most techniques" is good enough.
Why would I want to?You'll never compete with the holographic market with that attitude
Necheyev's definitely not a badmiral, unless someone's defining it as 'any admiral who isn't entirely on the same page as Picard'. It wasn't too hard to buy the fact that she'd sign a treaty handing DS9 over to the Dominion in The Search, but that wasn't really her.I have heard some in the past talk of Necheyev like she was a 'badmiral'. I just don't see it. A hard ass? I certainly agree with that, but that in itself does not make a person bad or have a hidden motive.
If McCoy is a racist, he clearly isn't very good at it. He saves Spock's life numerous times.

So you like the "Easy Access" to their (Power Button / On|Off Switch)I’m okay with where the switch is currently located.

I think you have it backwards.Data can be hacked in a multitude of ways. That off switch is probably the most difficult way to gain access, as it requires you to get behind him to use it and not catch his attention while doing it. Plus, it seems to require some oomph to trigger it.
Smart folks are just going to hack in.
I think you have it backwards.
Smart Folks will learn how to press a switch, even if it requires "Oomph".
On/Off buttons are easy, hacking Computers are far harder than pressing a button.
Soong didn't program Data to do that, Lore on the other hand wouldn't have an issue with it.When I hack in, I don’t have to risk pissing off an android that can crush my skull without a second thought.
You're over simplifying Computer Hacking compared to triggering a On/Off Switch. You’re overthinking the switch.
