R.I.P. Kevin Conroy

Kevin Conroy, best known for his work as the voice of Batman in Batman: The Animated Series and other ventures, has passed away at the age of 66. He had been ill for a while. :(

Damn, damn, damn. Way too young. I never thought Kevin Conroy would go before Burt Ward.

I saw "Kevin Conroy" trending on Twitter, and my first thought was "Don't worry, it's probably not a death notice -- better click to make sure." Damn it.

And at 66 my mind races to when Batman 1966 started airing

He certainly made a lasting impact on Batman. BTAS is great but for various reasons didn't connect with me as much as it did for many so for me it was the Arkham video games that really cemented Conroy as Batman for me. Not meant as a slam against BTAS but to say that Conroy's legacy transcended the first series into many sequels and spin-offs and even different mediums. RIP

Damn, that's really sad, I had no idea he was sick.
Conroy was Batman for me, as much as I might love some of the live action actors, he is still the first one that comes to mind for me. I was one of the comic collections, and I didn't even realized until almost half way through that I had been hearing Conroy's voice for Batman the entire time.

Damn this sucks. He was the definitive voice of Batman. He is BTAS ....loved his portrayal. When I had first seen the show I thought two different voice actors were doing the role. He changed his voice so we'll between Bruce and Batman I didn't think it was the same one.
This news just made a gloomy day even gloomier...

Damn it. I can't link to it on my phone, but if you got to YouTube and look up "Twisted Toonz" and type in "Star Wars" it will take you to the Emerald City Comic Con where Kevin Conroy narrates the movie as Batman. It's well worth two hours of your time.

RIP to a man many considered to be "my Batman", including myself. He and Tony Jay were some of my favorite voice actors, and I mourn their passing.
