Here's my random speculation. Our Federation Stamets took his knowledge of the spore network and turned it into a mode of transportation.

I assume the Mirror Stamets also has knowledge of the spore network. However, I believe Mirror Stamets would use the spore network for a more... insidious application. I don't know what that nefarious application is, but I believe both Stamets must have activated their spore technologies at the same place and same time which resulted in both ships trading places.

What would you know, turns out I was sort of close.

My next random prediction we will see Prime Lorca and Mirror Burnam on the Discovery.

The universe in 1x14 will not be prime universe. They will have to jump to another parallel universe in the end. They will never be able to go back to their prime universe. Or they jumped to their universe in 1x14 but after that episode they will never go back.

Terrans don't apologize. That's the mirror universe rule that Burnham spoke to Tilly and Lorca said to Tyler.

Yet, after being told something about 'now' for the torpedoes or weapons of some sort, MU Detmer said 'apologies'. To me, that qualifies as an apology. Terrans don't apologize. MU Detmer apologized. Why? Is it a glitch in the consistency of the writing? Was Burnham mistaken and Lorca lying? Is MU Detmer really Terran?

If MU Detmer is not Terran, what is she? She could be an alien spy, but I have a hard time believing that -- a spy would be too well trained to make the mistake of apologizing. Is she native to the mirror universe? Could she be from the prime universe, or from another universe entirely? She seems rather harsh to be of the PU, but I don't think that eliminates the possibility -- not all prime universe people are good, after all.

If MU Detmer is not Terran, what does that mean for PU Detmer? We know very little about PU Detmer. She snubs Burnham at first, but we have no idea if she is still on bad terms with the specialist now. We don't know how she thinks or feels about anything. Who, and what, is she?

Again, it could be a writer's error.

Remember though:

"Apologies", said MU First Officer Detmer. Terrans don't apologize.

She is MU version of L’Rell in Detmers body. Nice story to be had there I suppose, maybe we’ll see it in the next Star Trek series set completely in MU: “Star Trek: The Next Terran Generation”

Sounds like some good stuff. I'm there.

I can now say I'm legitimately in wonder of what's going to happen next.

I can't bring myself to believe the Klingon War will end in two episodes. All I can guess is that the Federation gives up on the territory they lost (for now), Starfleet holds the line of what they still have, and Discovery's mission during the second season is to expand outward.

I don't see how they win (it's not unwinnable, just not in two episodes). All I see is: how do they deal with the loss? I don't even see how ceasefire is possible. Just holding the line.

I'd like to be wrong, though. I'll be curious to see how they pull a rabbit out of their hat, if they do. A rabbit that's not time-travel and undoes the whole season because that would be a cop-out.

OK, wild-ass speculation here. But I want to "log" it before episode 14 drops tomorrow.

1) The only way to prevent the Klingon victory over the Federation requires Discovery to go back in time and prevent the war from ever starting. Which means they go back to BEFORE Burnham jet-packs over to the Klingon cathedral ship. Mirror Georgiou sacrifices herself in order to convince Prime Georgiou to lead with a "Vulcan Hello". The Klingons grant the Federation grudging respect. No Battle of the Binary Stars. No mutiny by Burnham. No prison. Burnham gets that command Georgiou was talking to her about. Command of a new science vessel, named Discovery. She takes Saru as her first officer. Lt. Daft Punk becomes the new First Officer of Shenzhou. (OK, that last bit is a joke. OR IS IT???) (I'd love it if they introduced Future Discovery into the past by replaying the scene with Georgiou and Burnham on Planet Whatever from the first episode, but instead of Shenzhou coming through the clouds, it's Discovery from the future. I love shit like that. Sue me!)

2) Prime Georgiou is alive, commanding the Shenzhou. Prime Lorca is alive, commanding the Buran. Either (or both) could show up in Season 2.

3) Stamets is just beginning his experiments with Spore Hub Drive, but because neither Discovery nor the other science vessel randomly find a Space Tardigrade, Spore Hub Drive is a failure and we never speak of it again. Stamets and Culber get married and brush teeth together happily ever after. Paul occasionally has strange flashes of other realities, but Hugh assures him it's NBD.

4) Tilly is assigned to Discovery as a cadet, and Ash Tyler (the real one, not Voq) is assigned as security/tactical officer.

5) Voq and L'Rell. Well, I have no idea. Maybe they team up with T'Kuvma and take over the Klingon Empire. I'd make L'Rell empress in a heartbeat, mostly because Mary Chieffo is such an amazing actor. I hope they figure out a way to keep her on the show.

6) The Discovery from the future fades away, like Marty McFly in BTTF, once they change the timeline.

This wipes the slate clean for Season Two to pick up as a more familiar Star Trek show taking place in a more familiar Federation, but one where they can still drop the occasional f-bomb. Canon restored! Kill Your Gays unkilled! Harry Mudd still fleeing from Stella, so we can meet him all over again for the first time.

There ya go. I'll be back in 8 days to see if any of this happened.

Sounds like a good prediction. We'll see tomorrow and next Sunday to see whether some or all will come into fruition.

However I have a bad feeling that given the dark dystopian tone that has been set since Episode #1, things will not be as happy and rosy as you're predicted. I agree they will do a time-jump to try to prevent the war from happening and they are likely successful in doing so. However, something bad happens in the new alternate timeline they've created from the time jump. The Discovery and its crew will then have to figure out how to clean up the mess in Season 2.

...Mirror Universe Cornwell?

Giving command of Discovery to Mirror Universe Georgiou in an attempt to subvert the Prime Universe?

And Prime Lorca comes back with Prime Cornwell to kick ass?

(Disclaimer: I hereby give permission for the DISCO writers to steal my idea)
