    lol. I think you're right.
I am surprised they didn't extract more from him. But, then, I wanted more from someone who so egregiously stole from them.

I appreciate the enthusiasm and the effort by those trying, but I don't have much faith in it either. I've been following another situation in which people have been waiting for products paid for (some for a decade) and despite a good few years of talk and chatter - no one gets anywhere, it'd cost more than the end product is worth and there are far too many voices in the room.

Peters is perfectly capable of digging his own grave. The current scenario is just the beginning and he can't milk his core base of followers forever.

    That's what I call entertainment!
Seems like some standing could be found if a lawyer could prove that he raised funds and used the funds for something other than he claimed.
The intent to rent a studio and create a studio was there but he used the most awesome Trek Movie ever to deceive people to hand over their money. Was it simply Mission Creep or Bait and Switch?

Seriously though, if you've lost a few hundred or even a grand are you really going spend more money to retain a attorney to go after this bastard and even if found guilty, he will likely never pay you. Most people will cut their losses.

Based on videos posted today that set was never designed for cross country move.

The big problem with a lawsuit is there is no money left. Even if you won the judgement would be worth as much as an axanar financial report

I doubt he ever considered a bug out when he started, although he has probably retcon'd into his master plan since he is incapable of admitting a mistake.

I think he has had Axanar Chapter XI: The Retreat to Atlanta in the works since late last year as he prepared to settle the lawsuit.

Um if someone else wants to make an Axanar Fan Film ,can't they? I mean he can't sue for an IP infringement on something CBS owns...

Of course they can. I've been calling for that for ages now.

The problem with that petition is that it treats Axanar Productions like a legitimate studio that's just been mismanaged by Alec Peters, and if only someone else in the organization would topple him the roadblocks to the Axanar film would be completely swept away. It ignores two basic facts:

    1) Peters and Axanar Productions are a package deal. (They even have the same initials.)

    2) You don't actually need either of them to film the battle of Axanar.

You see, if there's anything Peters has done successfully it's that he's so closely associated himself with the story of Axanar that too many people think you can't have Axanar without Peters or his companies. I think proving that idea wrong will go a long way to finally breaking the hold on his cult.
