Feline Follies

High five with Matilda

mati_highfive_zpsd073a183.jpg

Recently discovered that she's a Siberian. I'd been under the impression that she was a Birman, but I've been looking at pics of Siberian cats and she fits the bill perfectly. :techman:

I've been chosen as human custodian by yet another stunning feline. I give to you my new out-of-the-blue cat, Matilda. :D

She just showed up around the house a few days ago, just like my other blue-eyed cat, Smaranda. She has already made herself very comfortable. It's as if she's always been part of the family.

That's a really pretty kitty.

Here are some homeless cats I play with at a local park:

Chances are, Alienesse, the cat chose you in advance, if this is any indication:

"The Secret Life of the Cat" (2013 BBC documentary)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hVOUB_awSk

Hour long documentary where highly accurate GPS devices as well as cameras are put on cats and we find out what they are up to.
I learned some things about cat behaviors.

I got to see my first "hermaphrodite" cat. That's it -- I've seen it all now!

There's a half-hour follow up called "Little Cat Diaries" which I have just started:

Brought my kitty outside for a bit and she wouldn't get off my computer lol.

are the black and white cats like that just a generic cat or is there some breed history to them?

we used to have one like that and was a very affectionate cat albeit a bit drooler. Got named "Paws" cos he had four white ones.

^ she is lovely! does she require a lot of brushing?
Thank you, Kim! She doesn't require as much brushing as you might expect. I mostly do that when she's shedding, but in the winter I don't have to brush her that much.

Thank you for those videos! I can't wait to watch them! Yes, I'm pretty sure the cat chose me. I found out that her former owner is actually somebody on my street. For some reason, she decided to leave that household and come to mine. The guy has been trying to get her to go back, but she's shrugged him off each time. Eventually, he gave up.

.

I've got one fuzzball who requires surprisingly little brushing - her fur is so dense it doesn't snarl and tangle. The other has finer fur and requires brushing at least every two days. Sometimes I really do feel like "Staff!"
