I can safely say that there will be at least one announcement about a novel series that starts with the four letters "star"--but it'll be Stargate. :) Sally Malcolm from Fandemonium Press will be there (as well as several SG authors), and I know she has at least one announcement this weekend.....

    Aww, now I feel bad!

If it makes you feel better, I actually don't read any author blogs; I just found that because of Seekers premiering and going to his blog for more info on that.

    My schedule:

    http://christopherlbennett.wordpress.com/2014/07/30/shore-leave-2014-tentative-schedule/

The program might list me on a couple of Sunday afternoon panels, "Tie-In vs. Original" and "Short Story vs. Novelization," but I almost certainly won't be able to attend them, since I need to be at BWI airport by 5 PM and it takes some time to get there. (Is there a shuttle that takes less than an hour? If so, it's conceivable I could make the former panel, but don't count on it.)

I found out about 3 days ago I was going to be in the neighborhood on vacation so after some pleading, I was able to convince my party to swing by at least for Friday night. I went, got to meet several of the authors, got Seekers 2 and the poster. All around had a woderful time

So any news announced yet? What was the Stargate book stuff KRAD referred to?

    Well this was just awesome.

Got to see Kirsten Beyer, David Mack, Dayton Ward, Kevin Dilmore, Marco Palmieri, Jeff Lang, Greg Cox, William Leisner, Christopher L. Bennett, KRAD, and Peter David on various panels and at Meet The Pros last night. I even ran into Therin and we chatted for a while, too.

Lemme tell ya, get David, Dayton, and Kevin on a panel together, and it won't be dull. They'll be cracking jokes about Vulcan Chlamydia before you know it. And if you've been around here long, you've probably either read or experienced that Kirsten Beyer is just one of the most wonderful people on the planet; it's entirely true.

No major announcements or news, except that Peter David confirmed that the new New Frontier novel is definitely a go. But I loved meeting everyone, this was a real treat.

Thanks for the confirmation Thrawn! I'm jealous that I didn't get to go too. Any word on if he considers the book to be a potential finale for New Frontier?

No, he just said it'd be picking up right where the last one left off.

Cool. I know I've been rather indifferent to more NF in the past, but since it's happening I will be reading it.

I'm curious to know why some of those photos are on there, a few of them are really not flattering in the slightest. One of them screams "in my spare time I like to do inappropriate things with children" and would certainly be used in a news article to emphasis that point. :wtf:

And yet you represent yourself with "Stylish Masturbator". ;)

I assume the authors are invited to send in a pic for the website, and those who don't have a random taken-at-a-past-con pic added instead.
