Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII The Falcon never looked pitted or scroed ot dirty to me, it was smaller ship than say the Enterprise but not messy.
Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII There are obvious places where she seems to have taken direct blaster hits.
Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII I'm really hoping we see the Falcon with a lot of new paneling and details given how much time has passed. Perhaps there could even be a whole different design of radar dish, or an extra gun turret underneath or something.
Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII LOL, it would be awesome if we first see it as a museum piece. After all, it was instrumental in destroying 2 Death Stars.
Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII I can see Han arguing with someone about trying to take the Falcon out of mothballs so he can go and do something heroic. "Han, it belongs in a museum!"
Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII Looking pretty good, although he's definitely one scraggly Jedi Master. Lol
Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII There's a few semi credible reports that hint at Luke having changed in a bad way. While dark side or Sith are not used it's not outside the realm of possibility especially if you I think that Lucas original plans had Luke turning dark and his sister rescuing him.
Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII Thank you eddie. I've been sitting here trying to figure out who he looks like.
Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII While I still hope the story rumors aren't true, I could see that look working for Luke as an Obi-Wan style hermit living off by himself on some backwater planet in the middle of nowhere. It could also work for the wise old Jedi Master training a new generation of Jedi.
Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII And Luke in Episode VII will be close to Obi-Wan's age at the time of A New Hope. Ben was 60 or 61 in the original film and Luke will be a middle-aged Jedi Master in his mid-to-late fifties depending on the final timeline of events that are established for the new movie. The new grizzled look and Luke's age conform with how Lucas depicted Obi-Wan at the start of the Original Trilogy.
Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII This interview with Kevin Smith about his episode 7 visit seems remarkable similar to the stand-up talk posted upthread. However he did add that he saw something else.. something better than the Falcon.. that he can't reveal.. but it had him amazed.
Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII The only thing I don't like about the story rumors is the suggestion that we won't even see Luke until late in the movie, after Han and the rest finally track him down. I'm hoping we at least get glimpses of what he's up to before then, and that he at least plays a major role once they do find him. Because regardless of his age, it's still freakin Luke Skywalker, the central hero of the OT. And I want to see him have more than just a glorified cameo after all these years.
Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII Fun video. Kevin's always been an old school, Gen-X Star Wars nerd like so many of us born during that same time and you could tell he had a deep and abiding passion for the Lucas universe 20 years ago when the only new Star Wars products on the market were a handful of novels and some new toys. If he says J.J. knows what he's doing and we'll like the finished product I'm inclined to trust his opinion on this.
Re: New Casting and Story Rumors re: EPISODE VII Um, so was I the only one staring at the incredibly hot girl the entire time he was talking?
