So... nearly 11 weeks ago on April 7 I placed an order on the site for the Voyager & Defiant models. Only five days later I received a package which pleased me with their speedy service, but it only had Voyager in it; no Defiant. I figured they'd send it separate at a later date, waited and waited.
Weeks went by and I had to call them to see what the issue was. They were confused as it was instock so they said they'd send it again... 3 weeks later, today, I receive a package. "Ah finally, at last it is here" I think. Open it up... Voyager. Which I already have. Still no Defiant. 11 weeks later.

    Fuck me.
I know some of you on here had warned me against ordering on the website, but Jesus I can't believe how incompetent these guys are.
Now I'm gonna have to wait till Monday, mess around calling them again (last time I was on hold for aaaaages) and then what, wait another month or so for something to show up? Hopefully the right one? And if they think I'm wasting my time sending this 2nd Voyager one back they can get stuffed. I'm gonna rip them to shreds when I get through to them. Especially when I was charged for both of them on my credit card like two months ago.

    Piss poor.

Wow. My experience with these guys is so totally opposite from yours.

    Have you emailed them?

While it is possible that Eaglemoss did not get the rights to nuTrek for US distribution, perhaps due to overlap with Hot Wheels and other licensees, I'm hopeful that is not the case. Several US-based online resellers list the JJprise available for preorder. But I agree, a statement from Eaglemoss, one way or the other, would be welcome.

You're also right about the Future-EntD. All welcome letters have stated 10th shipment as does their current web site.

Nah I'll wait till Monday and call them, actually speak to somebody. Not like they're gonna answer or reply on a Sunday is it. Although I'm looking forward to being on hold for 30 minutes again waiting to get through.

So I decided to put the Stargazer on my desk at work. Now I feel just like Picard with his Constellation-class model in his ready room. :D

Wouldn't it be cool if they put out models based on semi-canon things, like the Daedalus-class and the Enterprise ring-ship? We've seen models or pictures of these things on-screen, but never a real ship. I say, if they run out of ships and they still want to do it, I'd gladly continue my subscription.

Today I received issue #8 (Excelsior) and #9 (Defiant). Up until now, all of my issues have not displayed the issue number on the front cover. However issue #8 arrived with the number (and pricing) on the cover. Oddly, issue #9 has no number. Now my OCD is acting up!

Above the number is "Fortnightly", a word that is rarely used in the US. Therefore I believe that the difference is UK vs US editions. Or maybe it was removed in later printings for retail purposes.

What's even MORE annoying is the typo on the cover of issue #8, which classifies the Excelsior as a "Celsior" class ship.

I emailed on a Saturday and got a response on Sunday (believe it or not).

Hope you got through and got things resolved.

So far I have been lucky, I just placed my third special order (various duplicates I wanted), and to date I have had no issues. Called several times, usually had no waiting period at all, once it was 5 minutes), from changing mailing address, changing billing information, adding binders.

The only issue I ever had was a lack of email confirmation of originally subscribing. So after that I have stuck to contacting them through their Facebook account or by calling them.

Ill let you know if I have problems getting a duplicate Akira, one of five I just ordered.

So I picked up my copy of the Nebula class earlier and after the brilliance of the other ships, this is arguably the worst one I have purchased since the refit last year.

The aztecing is barely visible, unlike say the E-Ds aztecing under normal light and what is going on with the nacelle struts, they're nothing like the struts of the CGI model in the magazine. Plus had to break open the super glue as the little piece of plastic for the stand is shite and was rather wobbly!

I think I've rather been spoiled with my other thirteen models.

Anyone in the US getting their shipments faster. My normal subscription order was charged on Thursday my shipment got in Tuesday. Mine usually take a solid three weeks this was like 4 5 days I couldn't believe it.

To be honest, they're fine, given how many they make (probably around the tens of thousands mark) of course a few might be off, but on the whole, they're brilliantly put together, all the ones I own look pretty damn good (even with that rather strange look on the Nebula class on it's nacelles) so I wouldn't worry.

And for a tenner each in pound sterling, they're very good value for money.

I don't think I'm getting them any faster than before, but I did notice that that they changed their billing cycle so that the charge doesn't show up on the credit card until a couple days before actually receiving what was being sent, as opposed to 2-3 weeks ahead of shipment. In the grand scheme of things, there is really no difference, but psychologically, it doesn't feel as shifty. That was the only complaint I had about the subscription until they fixed it. Now, all is well with the world. :)

Damn. I gotta say, I really like my Nebula class. Yes, the Aztecing is subtle, but I think the specular hits are stronger with it. The QC was a tad poor on mine though, had to pry off the sensor pod and port nacelle to get them straight. The pod was easy but the nacelle took an awful lot of careful prying to get off without breaking the pylon. Managed to do it though, and now everything is as close to straight as possible.

You're right with the stand though, it is a piece of shit compared to all the others when it comes to fitting in the base.

Personally I prefer subtle aztecking. High-contrast details don't really jive with the original intent back in TMP, where the pearlescent colors weren't even really visible unless the light was hitting it a certain way.

The Nebula-class was very much a TNG-era ship though - it is to the Galaxy-class what the Miranda-class was to the Constitution (refit)-class (a Galaxy saucer in a Miranda-style layout). It should absolutely have had the same detailing as the E-D.

Do any Aus subscribers have their copy of Voyager yet? Or know how long the wait will be for the back orders to arrive?

Weirdly, I got my JJ-ENT from an American supplier, and it arrived back in April.

Which is strange. If there is some sort of legal issue preventing Eaglemoss from releasing it in the US, then none of their American suppliers should have received any stock. If there is no legal issue, why are American subscribers waiting with lack of updates as to the eventual release?
