True Blood SEASON 7

YES it is here.

I have been waiting a long time to find out Eric's fate. Eric and Pam, I adore them both and they kept me watching through all the werepanthers and orgies and other unsexy crap that we had in some seasons of TB. Always there were still great character moments.

I watched the season 6 finale to prepare, had forgotten just about everything but Eric in the snow.

I'll spoiler tag it just in case..

NOOOOooo only 6 episodes in this final season and no Eric yet!! I appreciate Pam on her search for him, heck I would like a whole episode of just Pam, searching. But I would also like 6 episodes with Eric in them.

Some lackluster bits but really, same True Blood pace with long waffling heart to hearts in the middle of all the blood and terror

Does anyone know the significance of the map Pam is given to point the way to Eric? Is it where he comes from?

We didn't see Tara die and I'm wondering if it happened for sure.

I am betting Lafayette steals Jessica's hot boyfriend (who is played by a different actor it seems).

Car sex: not as hot as the endless carpet care scene but I'm old fashioned. It seems like you should maybe not want to car sex your vampire girlfriend five minutes after your lifelong friend is killed.

There are 10 episodes this season. Alexander Skarsgård's name did not show in the opening credits this episode, although IMDB has him listed for the next episode, so we will see if he shows up.

Also, naked Anna Paquin :):)

I'm on my way to work and I haven't played with the spoiler tags yet, so in case I mess them up I'll just say I whole heartedly agree!

Are there really only 6 episodes? They better pick up the pace! There are things I need to see addressed immediately if not sooner!

Finally she is is gone..

Its about time they killed off Tara she should have been gone a couple seasons ago. I guess she is really dead because this is the actresses quote:

"
I've loved my journey on this show, so I have no regrets," actress Wesley told Vulture. "It's like, 'Okay, cool! Let's do it!' And I got this amazing kick-ass fight. I love that she went out winning, and then you cut to the scene where you just see Lettie Mae, and you realize I lost the fight. "

Wonder how much this series followed Charlaine Harris' original stories. And, while this next thing is not that related, I wonder how The Originals is for some people here. I heard that's the vampire series to take up the present TV slot for that genre.

Remember when we were all shocked to see Anna Paquin nude? :)

I've enjoyed this show but I'm not super saddened to see it come to fruition, I think it's ran its course. Hopefully they can tie things up nicely.

I thought it was a pretty good season premiere. The time jump hasn't really bothered me as much as I though it would.

AH 10 episodes, right. They only list 6 by name because they only have those 6 names and dates. Is this going to be like Mad Men where they take 10 eps and make you wait months and months in the middle for it to finish?

IT is killing me that we don't know if Eric is all burned. Which he obviously is. But how much he has healed. I assume a lot, I MUST HAVE Eric perfect.

They won't be doing that. Not for four episodes. If they do anything it will be a gap of one, maybe two weeks for a holiday landing on Sunday which none do as far as I can tell. They just haven't listed the last four titles yet.

tbh I was bored to tears. The show's been going generally downhill for a while (some good bits last season though.) But it wasn't till I sat down to watch this one I remembered how annoying I find nearly all the characters, esp Sookie & Jason.
I was praying all the people in that basement, esp Arlene would simply die.

And as for...
Tara dying off screen? What the fuck was that? I mean seriously is that it? I'm assuming as we don't see her die she could come back (despite what the actress has said.) Because really if that was it that was garbage.

It's just the same thing over and over again if this weren't the last season I would definitely jump ship. Hell I was very close to turning it off after 20 minutes. I am thinking I'll wait till the season is over though, as I'll see what the reviews are like and if it is worth watching, and also it really doesn't enthuse me catch it every week any more.

I don't think HBO does this. It seems that their drama series are carefully planned throughout the year.

True Detective, Thrones, Blood, Boardwalk, ??

Well.....

Aw, man, Tara's dead? Off-screen, at the beginning of the episode? That sucks. No pun intended.

And Jessica has access to the sheriff's house. Ominous.

The most interesting part is Pam and her mysterious map. Very Pulpy. And I don't just mean the paper it's written on.

Other than that, not much going on yet, except the usual Human-Vampire conflicts.

I would urge you to spoiler out your post but the show completely lost it in season 4 (after a long, painful slide from most of season 2) so it doesn't really matter.

With this season being the last, some attention might go to the other series, The Originals. Wonder if there's a thread for that, and how it will compare to True Blood.

I've always enjoyed True Blood because I don't take it too seriously and I'm not heavily invested in any of the characters. It was an ok season opener but not mind blowing. I too wish they had shown us what happened to Erik. And why has no one thought of setting up UV lights everywhere at night?
