So does anyone have an idea of when the first trailer for TBoFAs is due to be released?

I was just wondering that myself. I can't wait to see a first glimpse of the Battle!!!

There is one out now, but it is just a Title and then a flame background with the "2014" release date...

Also, search youtube for: "Images and Scenes from The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies"...it is about a 4 min. compilation of behind-the-scenes and making-of...it is pretty cool...

Cheers and interesting article, if that's the case when it comes to the National Association Of Theater Owners, even though it's purely an American thing, it will have a knock on effect across the globe.

I guess it would also mean, the first Episode VII trailer will be at Comic Con next year.

So potentially another month to wait then.
