Great Moments in TrekBBS History!

First person to get me a copy of Holdfast rapping wins.
Boy, you really want a copy of this - you mentioned it in your "I Love You Guys" thread, too. :)

My Google-fu has failed me, though. All I turned up was other people talking about it.

Its really bugging me that I can't find it

It was like 4 computers and 3 ipods ago.

Actually I might have a copy on my parents computer in Ontario.

^ No, but I do remember Miscellaneous Street. I consider that a great moment!

Yes!

I enjoyed doing the Miss Chicken, Ruler of the World threads most. Miss Chicken (the cat) owned the whole world and asked people to name the countries/states/cities they wanted to rule for her. There was wars, bloodshed, alliances and general silliness.

I remember all of those. Well kinder of.

Agree with J.Allen about other BBS dying. I remember posting on EFCL and other forums. Many of us - who formed the EFCL are now gone.

I would pay money to A) bring back the awesome PM envelope and B) bring back the warning log, always a great read.

This place used to have a great bar, back before prohibition. Wonderful fights, everyone got injured with chairs being thrown and all.

B) bring back the warning log, always a great read.

I forgot about that, how could I forget?? I was so sad to see that go. I would think that it would actually work well as a deterrent, since warnings seem kind of meaningless now that hardly anyone knows you even got one. Public shaming FTW!

The "Facts About Captain Robau" thread was awesome: "The Neutral Zone isn't there to protect the Federation from the Romulans, it's there to protect the Romulans from Captain Robau!"

And the "How is Janeway Sexy?" thread, for how it became a sweet Janeway fan community thing.

Rhubarbodendron misses Freakish American Batboy terribly :( Batboy was a good batboy and one of the nicest posters ever. Batboy was last heard of planning to marry someone who apparently rescued Batboy from the lair of some evil scientist. Rhubarbodendron wishes Batboy all happiness with his Batwife and lots of intelligent and well-behaved Batkids!

I also miss Plecostomus and his antics. I really wanted to believe that he and TheWifeOfBrian were real. I'm not privy to all the information behind that, but I was disappointed when it all ended. :(

Also, we should take a moment to remember our departed friends, such as Red Ranger, Techman (IIRC, the only TrekBBS member to have an emoticon named after him :techman: ) and Nibbles. :(

Not the only one. Mallory (RIP) has this one: :mallory: .

I miss him still.

As do I. When Starship Exeter finally released it's completed film last month, my first thought was "Poor Mallory - he'd waited all that time, positively and without criticism of the production to see the finished product and the timing just didn't work out.

I like to think he did get to see it in the afterlife and that he was most pleased.

I miss Mr. Coaster. He was a cool dude.

He posts a lot on Instagram these days under the same handle.

As for my recollection of "great" moments:

The Moderator Actions thread in the old days. Pure, unadulterated entertainment.

5:31pm

How Often Do You Notify The Mod?

Top41 (and later others') "drunkl" threads.

The Briar Patch/Think Tank

Chase Masterson vs. Emh

The absolute madness the day it was announced Enterprise had been cancelled.

The time William Shatner posted in the TOS forum and everyone (EVERYONE - including me) had to respond.

Treker's experiment with Nair on his legs.

Red77's famous comment - "Men get on my tits!"

Flukie's TrekBBS song "TrekBBS ... there's lots of spam!"

Death Dripping Dryly. (Sorry about that, Crash!)

My own "Celebrity Jeopardy" threads.

Dennis ripping Dayton3 a new one, then notifying the mods himself to cheat Dayton out of the pleasure.

JKTim and cardinal biggles pranking the TOS Movie forum with their great Star Trek Nemesis re-watch and review.

Every single time Locutus of Bored has issued what I now refer to as "the Locutus Burn" -- epic intellectual and discussion beatdowns to those who so richly deserve it (on occasion including myself.)

SPOCKED's reign of terror and tryanny in Misc and his eventual decline and fall as a moderator.

The old meetup threads.

KellyzKorner comics.

The Brony invasion and butthurt before the Brony accords that got them their own dedicated thread. I think that was in 2011.

I miss AstroSmurf, RedFenix, BlazerBoy, Goji, OmahaStar, and a lot of the aforementioned posters. Like many people in other forums I've visited, they've moved on with their lives, and I wish them the best.

One of most memorable posts was Kestra's anonymous confessions thread. I was able to share an intimate part of my past. Say, we should do it again!

EDIT:

It was Holdfast who started the thread. But I remember talking to Kestra as well.
