I always thought the Romulan War would be a good setting for a show or movie. I actually had thought at one time Future Guy was actually a future Romulan trying to change the course of history. I'd set a TV show almost exactly where ENT left off (Demons and Terra Prime), but with a different ship and crew (Daedalus-class anybody?). It would showcase the events leading up to the war with the Romulans, but also explore more prequel aspects that lead into TOS and even the TNG-era. And it would be on Netflix or Amazon or Hulu, just so it can actually thrive without network involvement. And Han shoots first.
Seeing as how the PTB didn't know who Future Guy was, that's as good an explanation as any ENT should've been on a Daedalus-Class ship from the very start. Of course he does, a scoundrel like him doesn't live as long as he has without knowing when to shoot first and walk away calmly without asking any questions.
Take the NCC-1701-A series starship, call it something other than Enterprise, put a new crew on it, and have lots of planet of the week stories with an occasional story-arc thrown in.
You all have some good ideas. I just think that CBS or another network that buys the rights is going to do some sort of reboot or reimagining. Everything today is about brand recognition and I think the creators of a new series will be pressured to draw upon either TOS of TNG, the two Star Trek series that have had the most cultural impact and recognition. Something entirely new will be considered too risky.
Female android captain, male holographic science officer that is followed around by an orb that projects him but also offers advice and a Borg doctor. Maybe a Klingon counselor.
Have a series centered on the Q. It would get pretty hilarious trying to come up with titles for each episode wouldn't it? LoL. "X Qs Me" "Q Ball" "Qs Quarters" "Take My Q...PLEASE" and on and on and on.
I wonder if by making Spock a woman and Kirk gay, if it would make the Kirk/Spock shippers heads explode?
If each season is basically a year. And there are thirteen episodes season. Then each episode can be timed to occur during Spock's PMS days. Spock: "I SAID I HAVE NO EMOTIONS DAMN IT (could someone please get me some ice cream?)"

I still can not fathom how a Star Trek show set on safe and boring as hell earth is supposed to be appealing. And no I don't give a crap about how people would be living 200-300 years from now.
No I'm saying it will be boring as f&@k. And I don't mean TMP boring as f&@k, I mean losing my will to live wanting to find the guy who made this thing and demanding an hour of my life back boring as f&@k. This is because there is no conceivable way outside of a massive asspull to make freaking cadets do interesting things on the most boring planet in the Federation.
I would like to bring back the tradition of a ship with history on it. Instead of a brand new Enterprise. Let the Enterprise-E be passed on to an entirely new crew. I always like in the original Star Trek that the USS Enterprise had had 2 previous captains before Kirk. You could always update the interior with new tech. Then set them out on deep space exploration. As much as I liked TNG, I would like the new crew to have more of a personality. I thought the characters were way to robotic and pretty emotionless on TNG. Maybe have more conflict like on DS9. Of course if you havent guessed I want this in the prime universe, I'm sorry I just dont like the alternate reality star trek.
