Speaking of 70s movie themes.... I still remember when this song hit the top ten, meaning the local AM radio station would play it, even--one time-- at night, right before I (all of nine years old) went to bed: [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04EShclPAa0[/yt] I didn't sleep a wink that evening.
Don McLean's tribute to the music of the '50s and scathing critique of what took its place in the '60s: [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0Y_XRiJsCI[/yt]
One of my favorite one hit wonders of all time (unless you count his stint with Sha Na Na as a "hit"): [yt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R5Wpn3dFrEs[/yt]

He always stood a bit in the shadow of the more critically beloved Bruce Springsteen, but Bob Seger sure knew how to pump out some great, Chuck Berry-inspired, heartland rock: [yt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mRFWQoXq4c[/yt] [yt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EM-8QNkqx4M[/yt] [yt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtgmlqfCYwY[/yt]
I find it an intriguing coincidence that these two songs, both memorable for their striking use of rain effects, were recorded, released, and charting virtually simultaneously: [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XI6C7L66zq8[/yt] [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DED812HKWyM[/yt] On the other end of the decade, the Doors enjoyed a resurgence of interest going into the 1980s after a 1979 film made prominent use of a controversial album track from 1967: [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TwgBTclc7Y[/yt]

Hanging with Mr Cooper [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrClmc-eqAs[/yt] [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBEcLxnXVAc[/yt] Speaking Alice, he appeared in this *cough* classic *cough* film [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ta9KMLpiHM[/yt] along with a few other 70s acts [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klvWtrtIRyI[/yt] [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJIo0AP3MCM[/yt] [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTNIqJE80nQ[/yt]
My sister used to have the soundtrack album back when I didn't know that the songs were Beatles covers, but that's the first I've actually watched parts of that movie. So...am I supposed to be rooting for the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton when they interrupt Aerosmith...? That reminded me of a film about the Beatles from the 70s that I am familiar with: [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VOOpNyowoA[/yt]
Too bad they couldn't have gotten the Sex Pistols instead of Aerosmith. Then the scene would have so much more symbolism
True dat. And, while that movie was shit, you have to admit: at least three covers in that film (EWF, Aerosmith and Robin Gibb singing "Oh Darling) were the shit.
