Trivia question

Can anyone tell me how the following is related to Star Trek? I know the answer but I'm wondering how many others know it too.

"When I dipt into the future far as human eye could see; Saw the Vision of the world and all the wonder that would be."

Hint: It's a quote from Alfred, Lord Tennyson.

It's on the Voyager dedication plaque.

I know this from Stephen Poe's behind the scenes book on Voyager.

Ah, good, I wasn't sure how cryptic it was. I saw a sort of intro show when Voyager (and UPN) debuted in 1995 and Robert Picardo pointed out the plaque.

Well, while we're on the topic of difficult trivia questions, here's one...

Who was the only captain of the starship Enterprise to get a full name yet never be seen?

Here's one, albeit in perhaps a shambling, kind of reaching for it sense. Which cardinal Trek character, integral to the technology and lore of our beloved Federation, had a ubiquitous hashtag (so and so OF _____) but was never seen in that location in any appearance?

Seven of Nine, obviously; we never saw her anywhere nearer than 4 pi.

You're either referring to Robert April or Thomas Halloway, depending upon how strict you are being with canon.

Zefram Cochrane of Alpha Centauri?
Or, perhaps Garth of Izar?

For your first guess, BINGO SIR!!!!! While certainly highly esteemed in Starfleet for his command accomplishments before the incident at Antos IV, I wouldn't describe Garth as an integral character in the Trekverse. I should try to read those Trek literature works that I understand provide more of a foundation about his life, pre and post Whom Gods Destroy.
