Marvel planning Guardians of the Galaxy movie!

There's a Lego Marvel series on Disney which had a cameo by Lego Stan Lee. I say if it has anything to do with Marvel a Stan Lee cameo should be welcome.

Both his cameos in the Captain America films are my favorite now, I think. Hope the one in Guardians is great as well.

In the comics is the Collector good, bad, or neutral?

Yes. He's an elder of the universe so he can be a villain or a good guy depending on the story. One time he make teh mistake of trying to add the Hulk to his collection and paid the price for it, but he was also something of a good guy during the Kovac saga.

Yeah from what little I've read, I gather he's pretty much in it for himself. Has no allegiances or loyalties and is essentially amoral. Seems as though whether he's a hero, villain or "other" in a given story is entirely dependent on what his agenda happens to be at the time.

In the context of this movie, I think it's safe to say he's probably not working with Thanos. I mean he's "The Collector", no? He's hardly going to hand over six of the oldest and most unique items in the universe to someone else when he'd rather they be in his collection, yes?

I'd say he's more villain than not given that his hobby is immoral by human standards and tends to routinely put him at odds with the good guys (whom he's usually trying to add to his collection).

Also, I don't know what he's been up to lately, but the Elders as a group once tried to destroy the entire universe so that they'd be the Galactii (Galactuses?) of the new one.

Yeah they have plenty of room to make him a major obsticle without being evil in the traditional sense.

The stones must be kept apart, and entrusted one by one to somewhere they can never fall into Thanos' hands.

The Collector bringing them all together regardless to have some crowning display of his collection, all to himself, would be insanely dangerous and at odds with the heroes. But perfectly in keeping with his character and the story.

That makes 3? factions at least after the stones. Although I'm interested to see how he's planning on aquiring all of them behind everyone's back. Will he send the Kree to invade and pillage any world holding one?

It would tie in nicely to AoS, if the team had to beat a small invasion force to the Hydra lab the Trickster staff is being held in (well, if the Baron is Hydra and the staff is a stone...).

From Deadline:

Disney is rolling out this poster and promoting next week's launch on Facebook of a trailer for "Guardians of the Galaxy," yet another Marvel adaptation. Who's looking forward to the film?

Disney posted this below about the trailer and a Q&A with the cast:

They're going to have to be careful to not make Sif and Volstagg look stupid for leaving the Aether with him at the end of Thor 2.

They were probably following orders...and those of us who've seen TDW know who those orders would have been from....
