these models are finally available in Australia, for people who got these models, how do they compare with other models from other companies say like hot wheels star trek models?.

Superior to hot wheels I'd say.

Far superior to the Furuta ones.

Most important: these ships are giving us ones we've NEVER had in a physical format before.

And that makes me buy them no matter what.

Because if these don't sell? We'll never see another Akira, or Equinox, or Prometheus, or Jem'Hadar ship or... you get the point. ;)

But if they do sell? We'll see more from this company and it'll tell others we're interested in these non-hero ships we didn't see each week. Flying in the face of the conventional "wisdom" that all fans want is new copies of the 1701, 1701-D, Klingon bird of prey, and so on... *facepalms*

While I agree to an extent, if I'm getting never before seen ships, I want the hero ships made in the same line. If it wasn't for the ridiculous amount of advertising this company has done, I would have missed out like I did on the Furuta ones or the museum scale set.

We get the hero ships all the time in x-versions. It's great that the other ships receive their fair share of the spotlight. Sure, I'm also looking forward to Kirk's 1701 TOS-style, but I can easily wait for that for months it that means getting my hands on the 1701-J finally, for example.

A lot of these ships are available are available as resin Garage Kits- StarshipModeler carries some in their online store. The problem is kits cost a lot more (the 1/1000 scale Akira is almost 18" long and lightable, but also cost about $200). I simply do not have the time with my new family to build as I used to, the Eaglemoss replicas are a nice way of getting rare ships to display.

WalMart only carries the very top ten fastest sellers these days. They used to have a decent toy/hobby department, now it is just action figures and wheeled vehicles in a couple of Aisles. I hate having to order most of what I want online now, but retail stores simply do not carry as much as they used to.

I got charged for May's shipment today. It was $14 more expensive for binder 2.

Only the first one was. I remember they gave me the option to opt out when I signed up and I had to double check to make sure I would get them. I'm sure you can opt out of any future binders if you call them up.

I opted out. But just recently asked to add them back on and I am glad I did.

Very cool. IIRC, they originally said the E-E was based off the First Contact studio model, but this article says it's made from the all-CG Insurrection version, which should make some folks happy. I don't particularly mind either way. Good looking ship - the Vor'Cha too...

Yeah, I think they both look great. These are two of the ships I'm most looking forward to, especially the E-E. My only concern is, due to it being a long ship, it'll be quite a bit smaller than the others (similar to the Excelsior).

You mean Battlecruiser? The Dominion Battleship is a bit different than the Battlecruiser.

Got my Equinox and Thunderchild yesterday. I used to run a PBEM RPG with a Nova-class ship, so getting my hands on an actual one is supremely exciting! Never thought anyone would bother!

Also neat to see the Thunderchild; like any ship that post-dates the old MicroMachines, I didn't have a good feel for its shape and dimensions before.

The magazine with the Equinox asserts that the Deep Space Nine Technical Manual is canonical.

I never noticed a difference between the Vor'cha in TNG and DS9 but according to the article the DS9 version was "more colorful".

Calling Eaglemoss tomorrow to bump me forward to match the rest of the US. So in two to three weeks will be getting 6 models, it will be like Christmas.

I expect the E to be quite a small release.

I am really beginning to want them to do an Excelsior class as a Special just to get a good sized release. I think I might feel the same about the Enterprise E.

IF the release goes past 70's what ships would you like to see (or shuttles, stations, ext).

Here are my top ten Request. *
    * Only list ships that have been used in tv or films. As much as I might want ships outside of TV or movies, I won't the collection first to really mine the film / tv universe.

    Pasteur
    Space Dock
    Regula One / Orbital Facility
The ECS Fortunate (one of my favorite designs)
Deadalus class (its official thanks Sisko model)
Vulcan D'Yker Class (I don't think its on the list)
    Space Station K7
    SS Botany Bay
    Pre Federation Intrepid
    Merchantman

Only want Shuttles if they decide to do ten are so.
