Star Trek: Voyager: Acts of Contrition by Kirsten Beyer

Wait a minute, Voyager was refitted for slipstream in the Alpha Quadrant prior to setting out for Project Full Circle. But Unworthy, Children of the Storm, The Eternal Tide, and Protectors's covers clearly show Voyager with its original configuration!

And by the way, how does Cross Cult have the budget and motivation to render a refitted Voyager? I haven't heard anything about this from Ships of the Line.

^Yeah, and a lot of '80s Trek novels showed the TMP ship and uniforms for stories set during TOS, and vice-versa. And A Choice of Futures shows Archer in an Earth Starfleet uniform c. 2161 even though in the story he's wearing a Federation Starfleet uniform c. 2162-3. Covers aren't always exact representations of what's inside.

I always thought that Uhura's Song looked odd with Spock and Uhura in their TOS uniforms, but then the Enterprise was the flat-nacelled version from TMP, TWOK and the rest of the movies.

I've seen that cover several times, but I never noticed that until now.

Just like if you look at "Mutiny On The Enterprise", the characters are in TMP uniforms, but apparently on the TOS bridge.
LOL, I've never seen that cover before. I didn't realize how often they mixed up stuff like that in the older covers.

Oh. I previously assumed that it was some kind of dress uniform. A predecessor to http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/File:Starfleet_flag_officer_dress_uniform,_2375.jpg

It is a dress uniform, but it's the Earth Starfleet dress uniform he wore in "These Are the Voyages," which was the chronologically closest photo reference available. (Although it's photoshopped onto a second-season publicity photo of Archer.)

At least the cover has false coloring. You could squint and say that it is in fact a 2162 dress uniform.

Only because it's cheaper and easier to do what they did--and they figured few people would notice and those who did would likely buy the book anyway. Still an unfortunate choice.

New York Times Bestselling Author Kirsten Beyer!

(I know we knew this already; still cool to see.)

And I think that cover is badass.

Agreed! New York Times Bestselling Author is the best part! Too bad they couldn't get the REST of her name (as she's known here on TrekBBS) on the cover! ;)

They've shown Voyager on a bunch of the covers so far and it's always been the unaltered one. I agree it's an inconsistency; I still think that cover is badass looking.
