And I am. I hope it gets its full seven year run, one way or another.

That was one of the grossest and hardest to watch things I've ever seen on TV, at least so far as fictitious gruesomeness goes. I was wincing throughout that whole scene, and it just went on and on. The poor guy's screams were hard to take. The cooking scene seemed surprisingly mundane in comparison, which is kind of troublesome, now that I think about it. ;)

The camera people (and VFX artists probably helped conceal things too) should get the Emmy for "Best Achievement in the Use of Shadows" for managing to not film a single buttcrack, boob, or ballsack in that entire evil United Colors of Benetton ad in the silo, or during the near-escape. Dude's skin ripping off is kosher, but no asscrack; that's over the line. Can you imagine how much time they must have spent arranging that color palette, and the poor nameless redshirt actors who had to lie there the whole time like a lunch-meat tray of naked corpses?

Plus, I was rooting for that guy to get away so bad, only to have him smack into the rocks after jumping off the cliff to guaranteed movie and TV safety. Bastards!

Other than that, though, the show remains fantastic. As Hannibal would say, "Love your work."

There is no chance in hell that this show will make it to a 7th season.

I have only seen bits and pieces but what I have seen has been beautifully filmed.

Oh, stranger things have happened*. This is NBC we're talking about, where Parks and Rec is getting a 7th and Community may well get a 6th. ;)

*Though I'm certainly not optimistic that will happen.

Hopefully the move to fridays after Grimm will give it a better lead in demographic.

I still think my favorite thing about the show is the cinematography. It's just so dream-like all the way through each episode without resorting to cyan/orange lighting.

I saw two episodes in season one, I found it pretty unwatchable. Pretty much a directionless slaughterfest.

Yeah, there's a lot of words I can think of to describe the show, but "directionless" would not even remotely be one of them. Can't disagree with "slaughterfest" on account of the copious amounts of gore, though I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't expect that in a series with Hannibal Lector as the namesake, nor do I think it's just gore for the sake of gore, with no other purpose or value to the show.

If you're only going to watch two episodes, considering the huge interwoven continuity, and how people are committing acts for reasons that happened 2 or three episodes earlier, it all might seem senseless.

It's true I didn't get enough of a sample to see any long term continuity, so that's fair. But they kept on setting people up as innocents getting you just invested enough in them to be 'shocked' when they are found flayed open later in the episode. And it had things like, Hannibal revealing his nature to murderous little girls, which seems like too big a risk for him to take just for the sake of professional courtesy.

Hey, for those that like Hannibal, you might find Those That Kill interesting. It reminds me of a cross of Hannibal and The Killing in general style. It's airing on A&E monday nights.

    That one turned me off.

The draw on Hannibal, like Dexter, like House of Cards, is that the bad guy is getting away with doing horrible shit.

Those that kill is just an emotionally stunted lady hunting perverts and whackjobs.

    Pretty standard.

Although, those that Kill is probably identical to any treatise put forward for a (Clarice) Starling show, of which there have been a couple over the years that have just not quite made it to production.

Well, that sucks, but considering it had virtually no promotional build up, I can understand the ratings. I only found it by channel surfing.

Is it racist to assume that different ethnicities express different flavours during consumption?

Hannibal has a super villain lair in the basement.

Poor Katz. I really liked her character. I was kinda curious why she got such a beefier role this season (no pun intended). Also, how much do you wanna bet that she saw Abigail Hobbs in that basement?
