Actually no, Bellisario left the show over six years ago.

Though I agree that Bakula will probably rein it in.

Some thing to keep in mind about NCIS: New Orleans:

    • As far as I've read, Shane Brennan, who ran the original NCIS after Bellisario's departure and who now runs NCIS: Los Angeles, is not involved with running the New Orleans show. Current NCIS showrunner Gary Glasburg is alongside Mark Harmon. Also, from my understanding, Harmon doesn't like the LA spinoff.

    • While the New Orleans office will be in New Orleans, they will handle cases and situations from the Texas Pan Handle through Florida. So it is presumably not going to be all New Orleans all the time.

Can't say I disagree with Harmon about NCIS: LA. I'm not a huge fan of it, either. Does the Navy even have much of a presence in LA? San Diego probably would have made more sense. But NCIS: LA seems like more of a spy show than a show about investigators solving Navy/Marine-related crimes.

Looks like Zoe McLellan will be playing Agent Brody. Apparently that leaves just one more role, Agent LaSalle, to be cast.

From my understanding, Bellisario was notorious for rewriting until the last minute, making it difficult for the actors to learn their lines. I suspect that this may even be why Sasha Alexander left after only two years. Eventually, Harmon threatened to walk, so Bellisario was reduced to a producer role and Shane Brennan took over showrunning duties.

They really need to stop reusing actors for multiple roles. NCIS had Bellisario's son, the one who played Mikey Roberts on JAG, on NCIS once. Now they've got Petty Officer Coates as an agent? This is not like Trek or B%, where appliances can fool people (well, some people).

A character named LaSalle? ok, now they're just stereotyping New Orleans.

^And, it's any bet that LaSalle will be black.

I'm not a fan of NCIS, it bores me. However NCIS: LA is just weird. It feels like 'The Unit', but instead of secret spy missions out of the country it takes place in LA. Really off to me. I do love the LA offices though, very nice set.

I'm not a big fan of LA, but I think with this cast and the popularity of the franchise, the new NCIS will easily slot into the top 5 shows on TV.

Speaking of spinoffs, does anyone know if there ever really was a consideration to do a CSI: London (with its resident Who theme song being "Eminence Front"), or was that only a rumor?

CSI: London didn't happen because the popularity of the franchise was dying down but the cost would have been too much. It's hard to fake London.

I'd already thought of a UK spinoff.

A bunch of scruffy oiks get off a bus and arrive at the crime scene, climb into cheap tracksuits. As they turn away from the camera you see CSI handwritten on the back of the tracksuit.

'Can't Explain' by The Who plays as the credits roll...

My guess is LaSalle will be a stereotypical laid back, smooth-talking Cajun man with a disregard for the rules.

And they couldn't have, you know...filmed IN London?

I mean, 24 seems to be doing okay in that regard.

I know you are a Yankee fan, so clearly not everything lines up in the brain but... :p

    COST

They couldn't film it in London, having 200 person crew in London would have been to expensive, they couldn't fake London so they just called it quits. At one point I think they were looking to have only 2-3 people actually be in London, film a bunch of the death scenes and such and film the rest in the USA or Canada, but they realized how stupid that would be.

You clearly haven't seem him lately. Hair is quite short and natural coloured. (Greying brown hair) He looks quite distinguished.
Also, the show is being called a spinoff, but is in fact going to be a two-parter special episode of the original NCIS. They will be testing the water to see if it has the legs for a stand-alone series. I do hope it does.
