Since we're all chiming in on that topic, I honestly forgot there was even snow in the Tuck Rule game.

I did my due diligence and watched a youtube clip, and yup. Snow. But I definitely don't associate snow with that AFC-D game.

Guess it's different if you were on the other side of the ball. The "long FG in driving snow" photo is pretty iconic, and can point directly to that moment as to how they got to the first superbowl in that 3 rings in 4 years run.

Ball's a little tough to see in the snow, but it's like 1/4" above the fingers trying to block it...

Anyway my point was that the rule should be changed to decrease the certainty of extra points, not remove all doubt entirely.

On a slightly related note, does Goddell hate kickers? Between this proposal and the one to eliminate kickoffs, there won't be much use for them soon.

Pete Carroll, Golden Tate, Richard Sherman. Yup, classless.

    Yeah, just terrible.

And Sherman, that Stanford graduate - what a thug eh, bet he sells crack to kids or something, just look at his hair.

Well, as far as Pete Carroll goes, just look at the NCAA sanctions of USC and his timely departure for the NFL. If you don't see why Sherman rubs people the wrong way, I don't know to tell you. As a Packers fan, it's pretty annoying the way Tate and company celebrated a blown call. To the point of inviting Lance Easley to a softball game for photo ops. Straight up trolling yo.

Well obviously given the 50 man rosters, and massive coaching staffs not everybody on a team is going to be an asshat.
What, you don't think his little rant was poor sportsmanship?

Oh right, the good old "thug" code word racism thing. Of course I didn't call him a thug. Are people's reactions to him in general somewhat rooted in racism? Maybe. But what do we really have to compare it with? Got any other examples of NFL players screaming about how bad opposing players are right after a victory in a postgame interview? And how is it that Sherman was surprised at the reaction he got? He's got a Communications degree from Stanford after all,, you'd think he'd have some concept of how it would come across *shrug*

Yay, not sure which way I'm going on this. Can't stand the Seahawks (for the above reasons, plus think the crowd noise/12th man thing is kinda douchy), but not sure I can root for Manning either.

Likely going with Broncos, I guess. Thought being if he wins, there's a chance he retires on top, or thinks harder about it after his neck checkup. If he gets this far and loses, pretty big driver to come back and try again. So, from selfish Pats fan perspective, Broncos for the win.

Then again, Seahawks got totally jobbed back when they played the Steelers and the Refs, so maybe they're owed one? But Pete Carroll? Ugh. That and about half the team having been popped for failed drug/PED tests, kinda hard to support that...

    I know: Go Commercials! :techman:

Not in a way that matters. Aaron Hernandez is "classless", what Sherman did was funny.

Seriously, you Americans are so strange about this stuff sometimes - "running up the score" (an expression that doesn't even exist in Europe) is bad sportsmanship, the fans making too much noise is an "unfair advantage", but freakishly big men bashing each other's heads and breaking their bones is fine sunday afternoon family entertainment.

The guys that get busted for DUIs, drugs, beating their girlfriends, murder, etc. are classless. At worst, I'd say Sherman is obnoxious.

And Sherman was reacting to Crabtree shoving him in the face mask.

Sherman is an obnoxious troll. He is also a tremendously talented cornerback. I'm not trying to crucify the guy like some people but I don't think there is anything wrong with disliking his antics either. The interview wasn't that funny. It was simple trash talk. Not exactly a pioneer in that regard. I've had my fill of all the articles and talk radio focusing on him the past week.

Oh, I'm well-aware that there's a two way street of douchieness here. As far as I'm concerned the Seahawks and 49ers are rivals that deserve each other. It's just too bad that when they play they both can't lose. Watching them lose Super Bowls back-to-back though would be a fine consolation prize ;)

Crabtree was the total douche when he whacked a man in the face for holding out a friendly hand. That's on video. Sherman's reaction was understandable.

You have got to be kidding me. That was the most disingenuous attempt at sportsmanship I've ever seen. Sherman told him something to the effect of "good game but I'm the best corner in the league." Look I'm no hater of Sherman but lets not distort the story of that game to the point where he is this greatly misunderstood soul. The two don't like each other. Shit talking and hilarity ensued. End of storyl

Well unless Sherman is a liar I don't need to. The quote I got came from him explaining what he said to Crabtree. Maybe he was embellishing the exchange a little bit? I don't know. Most athletes just want to be left alone after having their hearts ripped out on a game ending play. Sherman knows that and had a little fun trolling Crabtree. Not a big deal but it is what it is.
