Thanks for the info. I didn't know the Trek blueprint Lawrence Miller had a site - it didn't turn up when I Googled "Lawrence Miller Star Trek blueprints". Glad he's still with us!

I turned up a few mentions at Cygnus-X1 (some as Lawrence and some as Larry) and followed a link.

I got (via the mobile google site) all the cygnus-x1 links to scans of his old stuff, a couple of Amazon pages selling them and a few sites discussing them. Nothing direct to the site you gave me, although I guess I should have clicked around on the pages discussing his work and investigated more before posting.

I must be completely blind, because I've gone through the thread twice now and I still can't find these links... Sorry to ask, but would you be able to post them so I might be able to locate them easier, please?

Huh? Redress means to take an existing set and modify it. This is a new set with bits from previous sets as dressing.

I wish the images were larger and more readable.

That issue of legibility likely resulted from compromise between letting the talent promote themselves and other legal concerns.

The stuff on the Art Director's Guild site is, fortunately, larger.

Thank you! I've been trying to figure out the brig for awhile, although I knew it was a redress of the lobby/turbolift plaza set. The cells are much smaller than I'd figured. The exact measurements will be a big help!:)

(did anyone else notice the map of the brig deck in on the screens in the movie? It looks like an endless maze of identical cell blocks)

In my head-cannon, that ship is the U.S.S. Intrepid.

I really wish that the Vengeance, being a "dreadnought" (dreadnaught?) would have had 3 nacelles...like the dreadnought design form the old TOS Starfleet Technical Manual, and the alternate-future Enterprise-D in "All Good Things"...I just think it would have been a nice touch, and a nice nod to Franz Joseph's original design, and to TNG as well.

How many cells are in that brig? It looks like one, maybe two from the plans...seems like an awfully big room to handle one or two cells. (Also, where are the fold-out toilets in the cell!? What if Khan needs to pee!?)

And I'm really curious if the similarities in the Mudd's ship in the original, un-remastered TOS (well, the outline of it really, since we didn't see much) and the shape of Mudd's confiscated ship from Into Darkness were intentional...or just a co-incidence...?

Possibly there's more than one "compartment" set up like this for brig usage.

The set blueprints as shown suggest the toilets are in a separate room off of the main cell. Apparently, they still believe in giving prisoners some semblance of privacy for such things.

Besides, if they really need to check up on the prisoner under such circumstances, this is still supposed to be the Federation Starfleet. They can do both the privacy-respecting and the security-maintenance under most circumstances, and usually simultaneously.

I think it was a redress of the Enterprise set.

Behold version 1.0 of the new Enterprise! Tim Flattery's concept was the TMP Enterprise, seemingly with the only exterior changes being cylindrical nacelles and curved pylons.
