I really need to see Wolf of Wall Street and Dallas Buyers Club. Both movies have been gaining so much steam in the last few weeks that they each have a shot to win Best Picture.

As for American Hustle, while I liked it, I thought the first part of the movie was boring, and Bradley Cooper was too much like his character from Silver Lining's Playbook. Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence were the movie's true saving graces. I saw better films in 12 Years and Gravity and to give the Award to American Hustle is almost as safe as when Crash won.

I think this may finally be Leo's year. Though I could see Bruce Dern as a darkhorse in this race.

Blue is the Warmest Colour is conspicuously absent from the Foreign Language category, I notice.

I loved American Hustle. Thought 12 Years a Slave was quite boring. I'm glad to see Philomena is getting some love but I think Saving Mr. Banks should have received some recognition as well.

I am looking forward to sitting in front of the TV with a drink to see how all this plays out. First time in a while, too, that I've felt that way. The wife and I are far apart on our choices for all the categories.

Pleasantly surprised by the Best Picture non for Philomena (loved it) and the Supporting Actress nom for Blue Jasmine's Sally Hawkins.

I loved American Hustle, but I hope it doesn't win Best Picture. I think it deserved to be nominated but not to win. Bradley Cooper was the weakest part of the main cast (Jeremy Renner was much better), and if Jennifer Lawerence wins Supporting Actress I'll puke. She was good but not great. Not in the same class as the other nominees this year.

I think Chiwetel Ejiofor has Best Actor all sewn up. And I think 12 Years a Slave will win Best Picture.

I liked Jennifer Lawrence in American Hustle, but I would really like to see June Squibb win that category.

I hope Cate Blanchett wins for Blue Jasmine. She was amazing in that role.

Usually I am pulling for at least one or two films/people so I tune in, but I really couldn't care less about any of the nominees this year. There are still some on the list that I need to see of course, but for the most part these nominations just seem very boring to me.

The Lone Ranger?

Aren't there a at least 3 other films that deserve that spot in that category?

Man Of Steel? Pacific Rim? Thor - The Dark World?

Are 3 I can think of.

I know the change happened several years ago, but I still think it's pretty damn silly how many movies are in the best movie category for nominations. It was just an attempt to have some more 'mainstream' movies in there to keep normal movie-goers interested.

Only thing I care about is I'd like to see The Wind Rises win because it's Hayao Miyazaki's final film...

Miyazaki is unretiring again.

I want Frozen to win since it was the actual best Animated movie of 2013. Let's not give awards to movies that don't deserve it. Giving awards to someone just because it might be their last film is so lame.

Abdi winning would be great, but I think Jared Leto has this one. My personal choice for Supporting Actress would be June Squibb. She was utterly hilarious in Nebraska, and practically walked away with the movie.

Eh, I thought Rush was pretty boring.

My disappointment is that Inside Llewyn Davis wasn't nominated for Best Picture. (And Best Actor, but that was always a long shot.)
