There have been a lot of rumors that the Borg will be the Villains in the next star trek film.Do you think they should be and if so what could the story be

Do you think they should be
The Borg? Sure, and why stop there, Star Trek Thirteen should also have the Ferengi, the Kazon, Q, and of course Vash.

The principal villian should have a really big starship and be bent on revenge.

Why should the next Abrams movie be any more original than the last two?

:)

The Borg we know would be awful. But reimagined Borg, ditching the Uncle Fester make-up and rubber costumes and using CG to replace body parts with machinery (and adding a lot more variety, like non-humanoid Borg) could be fantastic.

And Jar Jar Binks should make an appearance, since Abrams is such a huge Star Wars fan (and was never a Star Trek fan by his own admission).

^Neither was Harve Bennett, Trek's Executive Producer for movies II-V. Just like you do now, fans gave him a hard time in letterzines of the time, like Interstat.

Since Star Trek 13 will (IMHO) be the last NuTrek with that whole cast, the plot should be something involving the unraveling of reality, Q, and the entire cast sacrifices themselves to restore the old timeline (yes I know, the Prime Universe still exists. Maybe both timelines are threatened.)

Think End of an Era with the Legion of Super-Heroes. Something like that.

It's a good thing they rebooted Star Trek so we can have new, fresh ideas like Khan and the Borg.

I know, right?
That's literally one of the stupidest complaints I have ever, ever heard in regards to a reboot.

A reboot by its very nature is going to feature characters that were already previous in the original works.

The only time one would have a valid complaint is when one would tell an event exactly as it already occurred. So far no matter what people believe no events that I can recall are carbon copies from the prime universe events. Not a one.

Of course that doesn't mean different is good, but it does mean complaining about a race or a person, who was a part of the prime universe, is utterly stupid.

I would hope that adults would be above such behavior, but of course one knows better.

"I am Spockutus of Borg. Resistance would be illogical."

"Sleep, Jim, Sleep."

The script almost writes itself.

Considering the movie is only in the earliest stages of pre-production, I wouldn't give any weight to these rumors.
Excuse me, but at the same stage of pre-production for ST: Darkness there were already rumors about the inclusion of Khan.

So maybe you should be giving this rumor some weight.

:)
