Redskins. Why do they bother? They could have won that game. They blew it AGAIN. :scream: :scream: :scream:

Yay for Denver winning again, though! At least I have one team worth rooting for. :p

Per Adam Schefter, Tony Romo is out for the season with a severe back injury that was suffered during yesterday's game. Kyle Orton will attempt to lead the Cowboys to the playoffs.

    That, uh, sucks for Dallas.

If you need me I'll be in a drunken coma. Just doesn't seem fair after yesterday.

    Mel Tucker is an embarrassment.

    You were saying?

I honestly almost don't want to see them get home-field in the playoffs after that. I can't imagine a better way to say goodbye to Candlestick. Well. . . maybe as champions.

Great finish. I don't care about either of these teams, but I was actually pulling for the Falcons just so Arizona would still have a chance to make the playoffs (I think Arizona deserves it this year, and it's a travesty they may lose out).

My girlfriend wanted to switch off the game, but I insisted on finishing it out, and were we rewarded! That was a great on-side kick, and an unreal pick-6. Gotta feel for the Falcons fans last night. But what a way for Candlestick to go out.

I was hoping Atlanta would take the 49ers down too.

My lack of knowledge of the rules of football is showing here, but: Does the 49ers' victory mean there could be postseason games at the Stick? Does it hold up the date of demolition (assuming there was one)?

To answer your second question: Of course it would.

And, to answer your main question, I'm not positive. The winners of their divisions with the best two records host home games. The Seahawks and 12-3 and the 49ers are 11-4. If the Seahawks lose next week and the 49ers win, they'll have the same record. The winner in that case (if I'm not mistaken) is determined by whoever was better head to head. In this case, that's also tied, so it would be by the team that did better against division opponents. In this case, they'd be tied there too. I don't know the tie breaker after that.

However, NFL.com says Seattle has clinched a playoff spot, but it doesn't say they've clinched the division, so that tells me the 49ers can still win a division spot.

I'm finding myself cheering for the Dolphins and Cardinals in this final weekend. I'd love to see some long suffering teams at least get a taste of the playoffs.

Kitna is not starting though. Kyle Orton will get the nod. The only reason they brought in Kitna is because he filled in for Romo during the 2010 season when Romo missed 10 games. He knows the offense better than anyone else.

As for Romo's legacy, it will have to wait for next year but you will never see me begging to trade a QB with 31 TD's 10 Int's and a QB rating of 96.7. People need to understand that franchise QB's don't grow on trees.

The Packers will have Rodgers back for the Bears game. Glad to have him back- I just hope he isn't too rusty.

Tony Romo had season ending back surgery. Let the Kyle Orton playoff run commence! Although, the way to the Super Bowl should now be clear for the Cowboys since Romo is the one who's been blowing games in December.

Kyle Orton lost his job to Tim Tebow. Let that sink in.

I've been a Broncos' fan all my life. I'm well aware of Orton's body of work.

Well in the case of these two teams, maybe short term suffering. ;)

I hope he is. The Bears need all the help they can get to be able to lose the first playoff game.
