Forgive me if there's been a topic on this before, but since I just got my beautiful contributor's copy, I wanted to put in a quick thread in case anyone is looking for a good Christmas gift for the Tolkien fan in their life. Recently released and co-authored by Paul Simpson and Brian J. Robb, Middle-Earth Envisioned: The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings: On Screen, On Stage and Beyond is a gorgeous coffee-table sized hardcover filled with art and text on the subject of the various interpretations and inspirations provided by JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. I'm not doing this book justice so go take a look at it online or in your local bookstore (if there still are any!) and read about some of the versions of Tolkien you may not have heard of from stage to screen as well as a look at the modern films. And you may also notice some sidebar article contributions from some familiar names here. (I know I lurk here more than post these days but you'll recognize the other names. LOL)
Hi Jill! I picked up my copy in Sydney, Australia, last night (Galaxy Bookshop) and my quick riffle was very exciting, but it's to be a birthday gift and I'm not allowed to look at it till Saturday. Paul Simpson, it looks beautiful!
^Excellent! Hope you enjoy it! It is a really gorgeous book that Paul and Brian put together! (And early happy birthday!)
