It was. But then I understand it was pushed back eo December in order to give it a more thoriugh going over. Now it seems circumstances have dictated it be released in January.

I'm disappointed, but if it gives us a better book than no problem.

I know that DC Fontana is doing a proof read and corrections on the next volume(s). They want to make sure to avoid the issues with the first release which I am to understand is being corrected and re-released.

Hopefully they will fix the issues with the pictures. I'd like to pick these up but won't until the issue is addressed.

I doubt it. Jacobs Brown Press denied any wrongdoing (ethically or legally) in response to a negative Amazon review posted by trevanian (however, their comments were later deleted). Cushman has said nothing on the subject. "The Collector" remains very active on the Amazon page -- attacking anyone who makes negative comments about the images, and denying any wrongdoing.

That's too bad. Though I'm sure I'll eventually be able to find used copies of all three books.

It may take awhile to get hold of any of these used given how much folks seem to love the good parts, but that is my thought as well. Guess that makes at least three holdouts ...

I keep hoping they'll release an eBook version that's cheaper. Though I still really like real books. But I don't want to pay full price for this level of semi-amateur stuff.

I'll definitely be holding off on purchasing volumes two and three.

Anyone else get the Roddenberry.com email today hocking the "exclusive autographed first edition" of these things? It's hard for me not to read that as "a revised edition will soon render these things obsolete, so buy up our stock while we can still make a buck."

It sure would be nice if they made the revised volume one available for free as an eBook to all the poor suckers who bought the poorly edited first edition, but I'm pretty confident that won't happen.

Here's one sucker who hopes that will be the case. At least I bought it when it was on sale.

If the first year book is any indication... most likely.

On the TNG Season 5 Blu-ray and Unification single-disc release they use Cushman as an interview source, which I certainly have mixed feelings about, he's getting his ego fed from all this.

On Unification he has a legit reason I suppose, he's interviewed about his "Sarek" pitch, but then he just bitches how those guys at TNG didn't understand his more TOS style pitches he made.

On the Season 5 Blu-ray he's basically there to proclaim he spent time with Gene Roddenberry towards the end of his life, since as he has said in various "These Are The Voyages" blurbs that he had special access to the Roddenberry's.

Although it is disheartening to see his ego being boosted, Cushman isn't a bad source about pitching 'Sarek' and Gene Roddenberry's final years.

He is, however, a terrible television historian. I'll cry foul when he starts showing up as a talking head on documentaries about the original series.

Here's the revised and expanded version of season 1. I'm still waiting for the Kindle version.

"The story Gene Roddenberry and Robert Justman wanted you to know."

A few steps back from the claim printed on the cover of the first edition...

Who designed their cover art this time? Ignoring the provenance of the photograph on the cover (which I don't know), the Starfleet emblem is just one of the things that makes the new cover too busy.

My understanding is that Leonard Nimoy has contributed to the revised edition.
