    Nog served as chief engineer of the Valiant. In a poll with lesser characters, I think Nog belongs.

    Rom should definitely have been included in the poll, though.

    Was Rom Starfleet or did he work with the Bajoran? I wasn't aiming for Starfleet only but I guess now it is.

    So I'm the only one to vote for Argyle. I always liked that man and I'm sorry that he didn't become a recurring character.

    IIRC Argyle asked the why questions for the audience (in the Lore episode), but as the character who asked them, he came off as a bit oblivious. Plus, I am a little biased toward him (and Sarah). It was an opportunity for O'brien to be on scene and I wanted him to be the Nurse Ogawa of engineering, though IMO Sonya would have topped him in that role.

    I took: Trip, Miles and B'elanna.

    Those three to me had more of an edge [than Scotty/Geordi etc] and I also just really like the three of them as characters. In some ways, they are three of the more relatable characters in all of Trek.

    I chose O'Brien, but it was tough. Geordi, Scotty (both versions), Trip and B'elanna are all great characters.

    I voted O'Brien. It was between him and Scotty for me, I think the 'big three' approach to the TOS writing that excluded Scotty places O'Brien a little higher for me. He just got a lot more development.

    Is this poll limited to Starfleet engineers? Why no Rom option?
