brilliant design, would look amazing as a 3d model, like made from a 3D printer.

Very good. I think I'm more impressed with the quality of the artwork than the re-design of the phaser (which is not bad).

Certainly much, much better than the ST'09 re-design.

That is a great re-design...and I agree with SchwEnt...the artwork is truly impressive. I did a much simpler re-design recently for an animated project I'm working on...

Thats a Beautiful phaser. Looks classic, yet functional and MEAN. Makes more sense than those JJ pistols. BUILD ME A WORKING ONE SO I CAN SHOOT THOSE GROUNDHOGS THATS EATING MY GARDEN UP!! :P

It looks great; my only comment would be that it lacks the sleekness of the original. It's more "clunky" looking. It does look like it could kick ass though, lol

Looks like it comes right before the STIII phaser line

Very epic in design. Major props! I agree...it looks like a pre- design for TUC phaser. This rocks!

Kenney did the phaser props for the latest Trek films. He fleshed this out from one of his proposals that wasn't picked for the features. Definitely check out the link in the original post!

Too boxy and bland. The ones in the film look better.

You guys have to go browse the linked thread in the first post. That thing is amazing! It's a full working 3D printed part, complete with moving parts, removable "Type I" phaser, extendable nozzle, pop-up targeting display, etc. I'm absolutely amazed at the number of parts that went into making this thing!

To me, it looks like The Federation's phaser contract was awarded to GLOCK.
