Well Judge Janeway in action is already questionable when a convicted murderer is told to go to his room. :p

    Dac...

If there were a hundred worlds which Sisko could quickly target and fuck up, that would still mean that there's thousands of Marquis on many of those planets.

Meanwhile when offered a bribe to fold her convictions up into pocket square and send Quinn home, Kathryn claims that she needs a night to sleep on whether she can sell out her crew again.

who exactly did she punish and how? she punished Seven once and restricted her access, and she punished Tom once by demoting him. Who else did she actually punish?

sometimes I wonder if you've ever actually watched the show

she was never going to accept his bribe, her decision was based on what she thought would be best for the Q in question

What Ransom was doing to the aliens was horrible. He was imprisoning and harvesting them for energy resulting in their deaths. It would be akin to someone kidnapping children and draining their blood until they die. Such a person would face a very harsh penalty in our justice system. Since they were so far away from the Alpha Quadrant and since she was the only other Starfleet captain around, she felt like it was her job to carry out justice.

She bumped all the Equinox survivors down to Crewman, and reduced their privileges.

I guess she should have court-martialled them formally but it's not something that really needed screentime.

yeah, that's not really that much of a punishment though. If she put in to have them court martialled it wouldn't be until they got back to the AQ

A courtmartial would have resulted in jail time.

Then 1/4 of the crew would have had to have been devoted to maintaining the efficiency of their incarceration.

It's unethical to abuse prison labour, but it's fine to get these people to hold up to honouring their legally binding oath of duty.

Janeway was less interested in dealing with a guilty verdict than the Maquis or the Equinox 5 were eger to be found legally accountable for their horrific crimes.

It's how Wall Street didn't get blamed for destroying the world a couple years back.

That would be the crosshairs from Kathryn's compression rife sights.

She killed her crew and 4 hundred vidiians in Deadlock.

She killed hundreds of thousands of Swarmies in Swarm.

She Killed a Clown in the Thaw.

She hurt herself really badly in Futures End to kill Dunbar.

Everytime she fired that seemingly independencry war pistol to defend bleeding out Q during his rebellion... A star blew up. It's possible the Q only put Stars in the chamber that didn't have life supporting planets in the orbit of... But do you think they really care that much?

She forced the Queen to murder hundreds of thousands of Drones in Unimatrix Zero because Kathryn broke to Borg Interrogation from being capable of 200 thousand drones rathert han 100 thousand drones... A matter of seconds.

She invented WMDs to slaughter Species 8472... She took out one ship to make an example weighed in blood (what passes for blood.) to bully a universe into being terrorified of her.

She killed B'Elanna multiple times in Barge of the Dead ;)

Nuvok from Riddles was ordered to kill himself no matter how much he believed that he was a real person, just like she ordered Tuvix to top himself before him.

In Fury, Season One Janeway shot (old) Kes dead with a hand phaser and time was not reset, and her corpse was in Voyagers hold for 6 years... Possibly seven but they just stopped talking about it.

Yeah, it's not like they were left in the brig to rot. And that blue-shirted guy was already a crewman so didn't lose a lot.

The Equinox engineer was an ensign, which okay is a the most junior rank of officer but I'd have thought not being an officer at all feels like quite a loss.

If Marla was scratching on Chakotay's bedroom door after midnight, he's not going to turn her away.

One guy is not a serial.

And all those Kazon he killed with his bare hands in Basics... The Doctor forced him to do that.

It's possible that because the Doctor assumed that the man was garbage that it was okey dokey to let loose his dark passenger on that band of Space Gypsies squatting on his ship... Now imagine the Doctor years later telling a 5 year old Namoi Wildman in almost baby talk that she has to murder and repell single handedly a boarding party of evil space pirates?

We never got a number, but Suder spoke very authoritatively about killing people in the past in the Maquis. They were even creeped out about how violent he was. Including Torres and her ragefits as the status quo.

But maybe keeping him in his quarters was a fit of brilliance. You never can tell when having a killer around will come in handy. Like when you somehow let a group of protoKlingons take over your ship. ;)
