The "festival" celebrates the real "Larry Bloom's" (AKA Larry Smith) concept of the 6 word memoir.

You might recall, many posts ago, I discussed hearing Larry Smith on NPR (I know, I know... I could be a character on this show) discussing his 6 word project. He had been inspired by a story where someone challenged the late great Earnest Hemmingway in a tavern, to write a novel in 6 words.

His response?

The problem with "season 2 surprises..."

... is that they have been shooting since late July which means 2 months without Prepon on set. IIRC they took 3 months to shoot season 1. So the "surprises" she's teasing about are probably not going to be "more" Alex than 1 episode at this rate, unless TPTB deploy my suggestion of Vause being involved by mail with the Litchfield inmates via-voice over and maybe some flashbacks.

With all due respect to the posters in this thread who are fans of Orange is the New Black, and I do I understand this show has Kate Mulgrew in it and some posters are a fan of her and this show, but it is inappropriate to have it in the Voyager Forum. It is like having a TJ Hooker appreciation thread in the TOS forum.

This is not meant to disrespect anyone here, and in fact I am making this request as respectfully as possible to all involved, but I think requesting this move is appropriate, and quite frankly, long overdue. Thank you.

I love having this thread here, it is full of Janeway fans. There is already an Orange thread in Tv and Media. This is the Janeway fan version of the Orange thread.

I say it should stay.

To be frank... the TV & Media version of this thread USED to outstrip it in viewers and posters, but that quickly fell to the wayside. Heck I even stopped checking it by mid August because of infrequent posts, picking it up again around the time of the first Laura Prepon rumors.

Kate Mulgrew/Janeway IS the reason I started watching this show.

Teacake's screen captures and effusiveness in the Sexy Janeway thread encouraged me to take the plunge.

We tried to keep OitNB "hidden" in the sexy thread, but Karabear rightly felt she/it needed a thread all to itself.

The fact that we get 200-300 views IN THIS forum with every major posting, suggests people enjoy it and are interested in it.

Like Teacake, I can not understand why "this" thread is causing the subcommander such angst.

Any positive press Kate Mulgrew garners for her role in OitNB can only reflect positively on her past roles... such as Captain Kathryn Janeway of Star Trek Voyager.

The mere fact that many of the interviewers of Ms Mulgrew all comment on her previous Trek role confirms this idea.

I agree the TSC could easily avoid this one thread as I avoid the negative Janeway threads if he/she so chooses.

As much as I enjoy talking about OitNB and that sassy Russian... there is no doubt in my mind that....
