I'm only reading the "Editorial Reviews" section for the products you linked to in Amazon

Looks like the more expensive one has these extras:

    • 112 page full-colour photo book including original studio production manuals
    • Senitype® film cell collection
    • Collection of 3 story boards
    • Collection of original production notes films 1-10
    • Fabric Federation badge
    • Ship Blueprint

I think I saw one/both of these at the shops today when I bought the STID bluray. I might take another look.

In the US we only have the Stardate collection available, which is the standard world-wide release. The "Special Collectors Edition" is an exclusive to Amazon in the UK, but more than likely the only difference is the packaging. I believe the only difference between the Stardate collection and the individual set (TOS movies and TNG movies) is the unified packaging, the discs themselves are likely the same as before.

EDIT: You beat me to it, so I'll remove the repeated details

Here's the full site too (rather than the mobile site originally linked): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Star-Trek-Collectors-Exclusive-Amazon-co-uk/dp/B00EKKLVLI

Hmm I'm not sure it's worth double the price just for a blue print, fabric federation badge and a couple of manuals thrown in. So they're the same editions but in different packaging?

It would be nice to see a picture of these extras.

I can't say if these are the only differences. Sorry.

Trekker670 seems to think the bluray movies are the same.

I think the cheaper one says remastered and the new one doesn't but I think that may just reflect the lack of detail in Amazon in the exclusive release. Maybe closer to the release date there may be more information. I'd like to know as well.

The discs are exactly the same, as well as the other two box sets that came out a few years ago (Legends of the Final Frontier and the TOS/TNG sets) ... only the packaging is different.
