concept art and set photos!

Found video of closeup footage of Adm. Marcus' datawall for demo reel purposes.

References to Star Charts, Risa, Andoria Prime, Coridan, Sherman's Planet, Galorndon Core, Organia (and a "disputed" peace treaty named for it)...starting at the 27 second mark.

And there at the top of the screen, the words "trans-warp network."

Not that we should be surprised (they obviously got the technology from the Xindi a hundred years ago) but that means Starfleet in this timeline has transwarp drive at least 50 years earlier than they did in the primeline.

Thanks for posting that! :techman:

Anyone notice the starship diagrams in the bottom right hand of the panel (in the Spacedock manifest)? There are x2 starships there that I've not seen onscreen before - not the best way for me to describe them but, one has a mushroom-shaped saucer, similar to a Nova-Class starship with a more rounded / flattened front, with the identifier of OB-5 next to it (with might be which docking arm it was linked to)

There's what looks like the Enterprise, with the code: VH-5 next to it.

A third ship looks like an elongated Excelsior-type starship design, with what looks like V-5/V-S next to it (quite hard to read).

:) If anyone's able to get a clearer view / screencap of these ship schematics - or if you have better eyes than me, and can provide greater illumination / detail on what starships these are - I would very much appreciate it!

Also, the "tightbeam transmission" graphic got Qo'noS' transliterated name right. Even though everyone in Starfleet mispronounced it. Intentional mispronunciation, maybe?

All I've learned from this thread is that Abrams and Company really, really hate Star Trek and its fans.

Just like people in TOS used to call em "Kling-uns."

That, the Risa label and one of the Organia references were on the San Francisco map graphic, I believe...?
The Risa one is marking a flight from San Francisco to "Risa Hedony", I assume the Organia one is too, but it's "line" either hasn't appeared yet or just vanished.

The level of detail is immense. All for something seen only in the blurry distance when Pike chews out Kirk!

The Menk were the "underdeveloped" race, so it seems the Valakians have died out, and the Menk have risen to dominance on the planet.

Right you are. Got my races confused there.

Still, Archer and Phlox are morons. :techman:

I wonder if the Menk are warp capable now, it's been about 107 years.

How could they be? Archer said it would be a thousand years, if at all, before they became fully sentient.

Dear Doctor said:
ARCHER: I appreciate your perspective on all of this, but we're talking about something that might happen. Might happen thousands of years from now. They've asked for our help. I am not prepared to walk away based on a theory.

God, I hate that episode.
