Star Trek Into Darkness out on Blu-ray/DVD September 10th [spoilers]

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness out on Blu-ray/DVD September 10th [spoiler

Excellent--thank you!

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness out on Blu-ray/DVD September 10th [spoiler

Bad news. The download code from the Target edition of Star Trek: Into Darkness, when redeemed in iTunes, no longer gives you the commentary. All it did for me was just give me a Star Trek (2009)/Star Trek Into Darkness double feature.

I've belatedly discovered that the back of my slipcover has some of the "pre-damage" mentioned earlier. Lame.

Not sure if I really give a shit at this point, but still lame.

I'm not big on the commentary stuff, but I'd love it if there are deleted or extended scenes... Do we know which store bought version (if any) carries those?

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness out on Blu-ray/DVD September 10th [spoiler

Used the Ultra-violet code on iTunes and I got a digital copy of the film and the commentary. So, all-in-all, I'm happy with the purchase. :techman:

I'm having trouble downloading the iTunes exclusive content on my XP machine. I'm getting a -.50 error.

Can anyone help?

Boooooo!!

Well there's that sentiment, but the fact of it is the first release of a DVD is seldom going to have all the extras if any. It's a common enough marketing ploy to release a Director's Cut of Special Edition a few months later and double dip in a few places.

I ordered mine earlier this week from Amazon and received notification today that it'll be arriving on Tuesday. Heh....

I had the same issue.

After you delete the folder, make sure you restart iTunes. I didn't the first time and came up with the same error.
I guess my folder structure is different.

I'm on Windows 7, but it has this listed for XP:

\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\

Just do a search for your "iTunes Media" folder then go from there. You probably just have a folder with a different name somewhere along the path.

thanks! I'll give it a shot!

That said, the commentary should have been placed on the disk

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness out on Blu-ray/DVD September 10th [spoiler

My iTunes copy did the same for the first 10 minutes or so then downloaded normally, they probably had quite a lot of people downloading it the last few days, the servers were probably busy.

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness out on Blu-ray/DVD September 10th [spoiler

Could anybody confirm they've been able to download the visual commentary at 1080p resolution?

I think it's just 720p.
Yes, that's what I've got, but I'm running Vista as opposed to Windows 7, and don't have an HDCP compliant monitor for my PC - both requirements for Apple 1080 downloads.

I suspect the commentary is only available at 720, but I think TrekCore is suggesting there is a 1080 version. I just wanted to be sure before I bother going to additional measures to secure a superior version!

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness out on Blu-ray/DVD September 10th [spoiler

The IMAX scenes in STID are just awesome on the blu-ray, I would definitely buy an ultimate edition with variable aspect ratio and every extra made!

I hope the next movie is shot fully in IMAX. I know the next Transformers movie is, so why not Trek? I realise it may come down to a budget issue but since we know the reboot sells exceptionally well in home video I think they can make sure its shot in the best possible format and in full screen ;)
