Very sad to hear this. I haven't read much of her work, but Sarek was I think the third Trek novel I ever read.

I enjoyed her writing, and my condolences go out to those who knew her and loved her. Her mortal existence may have ended, but she will live on in her writings, and she will continue to entertain others for generations to come. One couldn't ask for a greater legacy.

She'd been fighting cancer for a couple years now. And had been very open about it on Facebook.

But, yes, it's still seems very fast . . ..
