After unearthing my old monitor from my mom and dad's garage and making sure it worked, I figured on just trying to sell it. But now...I'm thinking maybe going with duals. I'd rather they were the same size and resolution but it'd still solve some multitasking issues. I do see a problem with the color temperature on the second monitor being decidedly warmer than my primary despite my best efforts to dial in the settings. It sure does look impressive though. :)

I don't care how old this thread is, it's so rare that my desk is clean enough, it's getting a bump damnit! (ok, I know, I know. the wires. if it's possible to really organize dozens of cables with so many different destinations then it is beyond me)

I am afraid Kestra would be very disappointed in me if I updated this thread.

I wish I had a working camera. I outgrew my desk and replaced it with a 6 foot long x 2 foot wide table. Now the table is getting a little crowded.

^Leave him alone whether he wants to stay in the closet or not is ultimately up to him.

But yeah seriously, where does he work, Michael Scott Paper Company?

Not a closet, no. The closet is our marketing director's new office. ;)

I work at a compounding pharmacy. The office area outside our lab doesn't have a lot of space, so we're making do as best we can for another year or two until we move into a new building.

My old desk - which was located inside the lab - had more space; it was a long, curved desk. The pharmacist-owner, though, decided to move data entry and insurance processing out of the lab and into the office area.

I'll take a picture of the overall cubicle area that I'm now working in later this week. We have two other areas that are roughly the same size that are used for sit-down patient consultation.

Since I'm our primary "third party billing specialist," the one shelf that you can see above my desk is all about insurance tasks. The spot on the far right is labeled "Not Started," which is where we put prescriptions that need billed for the first time (i.e., new patients or new insurance card for existing patients). The next spot is "In Process," which is a catch-all for any insurance-related issues we may be having with a given Rx. The second-to-last spot is "Prior Authorization," where any prescriptions that are pending insurance pre-certification are placed. The last spot, on the far-left, is "Patient Call Back," which naturally is where we put prescriptions that are pending patient contact for whatever reason (i.e., wanting to inform a patient of their copay before making the compound).

I thought I'd post my new desk, I'm kinda going through a transition right now, I have a tower with all the gubbings on order which should arrive at the weekend replacing my Laptop. I've also invested in a new 24 inch monitor which is connected right now to the Laptop I am replacing.

It's neat and tidy because work has been cancelled since last Wednesday. When I AM working, there are papers all over the place.
